"Decent Board For Beginners" 10/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 5150 Vice Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Fast, Good For Beginners, Decent in Powder
  • Cons:  No flex, Scratches , Heavy

Experience:   This board is a decent board for beginner riders. This board does well on powder and can accelerate to higher speeds. On the other hand this board is extremely stiff and heavy so it is terrible for any freestyle or park. When i first started getting into rails i dinged the bottom of the board almost every time i hit a rail and it left a black mark or a scratch. This board is good for that beginner rider who doesn't want to break the piggy bank and who just wants to get down the hill.

  • Name: 5150 Vice Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  good for low speed on groomed trails,
  • Cons:  Very stiff,

Experience:   I rented this board from my local shop this year in order to save money to buy a new one next year and I have to say I was not very happy on how this board worked for me. It was really stiff and it did not allow me to have the flexibilty that I was looking for in a board.I like to ride park more than anything and it realy did not do very good with the kind of riding that I do. But it was fun on the few pow days that we had this year. I would recommend this board for someone that is new to snowboarding and is looking for a board easy to control.

"Starter Board" 3/7/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 5150 Vice Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Cheap, Forgiving Flex,
  • Cons:  Unstable at High speeds, Edges tend to slip,

Experience:   I got this board as a complete newbie to the sport. It worked well for learning and doing greens/blue runs. One thing that always frustrated me from the start was how squirrely it got once you hit speed. After my first year this board was starting to slow me down a bit and I got a new one. Good board for learning, but be prepared to buy a new one in a year or two, depending on how often you go out. Honestly, for the time you use it, you could probably buy a used board for cheaper and use it for just as long.

"Good beginner level board" 9/9/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 5150 Vice Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Low priced, Fast,
  • Cons:  No flex, not good with jumps,

Experience:   The 5150 board is a very good beginner board when you are learning how to snowboard. It has a very stiff feel to it. I did not have any problems with it breaking down so it will stand the test of time. Definitely do not take this board in icy conditions. It has a difficult time when the snow is not good.
