Sierra says: Although the 686 Mannual Field insulated jacket is on the lower end of the technical specs, it still comes through in heavy weather conditions and is a great jacket to rock on the mountain. It comes with 8,000 mm waterproofing and 5,000 gm breathability, critically taped seams, coffin pocket flap styling, and 60 gm polyfill insulation. It has simplicity and technicality, without the high price tag.

Pros: Durable, Warm
Cons: Doesn't Breathe, Inadequate Protection

Experience: It's an alright jacket for the price. There are definitely better ones out there. This jacket is a dark grey on lighter grey. No pink or white or whatever other people are talking about. It's a baggy fit. It's not the most waterproof, but it's warm. I wouldn't wear it when it's snowing, it doesn't have a high waterproof rating or fully taped seams. It does have a nice powder skirt though and nice wrist gaiters (but they don't have thumb holes so they're not held up by anything!) All in all a jacket that has little place in my wardrobe, give me a good shell over this thing any day! But for the money and the customer this jacket is aimed at I suppose it works. Not for the snow enthusiast.

Name: 686 Mannual Field

Experience: Bought this jacket for my boyfriend. Thought I could get away with it being "purple" because it looks more of a grayish purple. Got the jacket in record time (thank you Sierra Snowboard). Had him open it up and the picture does not represent the color very well. This jacket is purple and pink. Not the grayish purple the picture looks like. Other then that it's a great jacket. Probably going to return it since my boyfriend really isn't a purple and pink kind of guy.

Pros: Breathable, Lightweight, Warm

Experience: I love this jacket. I have it in Aqua and it is immense. I like this jacket a lot because it is warm but not super bulky. Those that like baggy fits will like this but buy the size you'd normally get. I'm normally an XL but wear this in a Large because I like a snugger fit. Not the warmest jacket around but perfect for those cold days and you can rock this bad boy on the streets as well as the mountain.

Experience: this is a nice jacket i got it on sale at a store where i live but i love the design because i have a forum seeker board the skulls match the seeker perfect it has an i pod pocket and a few other pockets and its fairly lightweight overall 4/5 it could be just a warmer
