Sierra Says: The Element is the do everything and think twice about nothing snowboard. With the ability to go everywhere on the hill, this board is not specialized in one particular style of riding. Thus, we feel this board is best classified as a true all mountain snowboard. If you are an intermediate to advanced rider that wants one board that does it all, or are just unsure of where to take your riding, look no further because the Element is just right for you. You will be stoked when you notice the speed, stability, dampness, and response this board delivers. Shred the park one hour and the backcountry the next and you will notice the true meaning of versatility.

Arbor Says: The legendary all season tour de force is designed to feed the ride it all addiction and powerful performance on the mountain, in the park, and beyond. The elements structural Eldorado wood top sheet prefects the directional board, allowing it to deliver solid initiation, return and control.

"Pretty good all-mountain board" 8/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Arbor Element
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Stable, Good Edgehold, Fast,
  • Cons:  A little heavy, rigid,

Experience:   I have ridden the Element a number of times. I own a 2009 and demo'd the 2010. This board fits in the class of the $500ish all-mountain boards along with the Burton Custom, Ride Concept TMS, Rome Anthem, etc. In my opinion, this board is one of the better in the class. Some things I like- 1. Very stable at high speeds. The bamboo topsheet and general construction of the board provide that reliability when cruising fast. 2. Good edgehold. I never felt sketched out when making turns on any type of snow. 3. Responsive. Snapping in and out of turns felt natural and effortless. Okay, with that being said, there are also a few other characteristics that I think are worth noting. First of all, this board is one of the stiffer in its category. Although its classified as all mountain freestyle, it isnt too friendly on boxes or rails in the park. Although jumps and halfpipe are fair game, I feel the Element has more of a freeride influence than freestyle. Also, like most Arbors... this board is a little on the heavy side. I do not see this as a problem, but some people enjoy lightweight boards. Overall, I recommend the Arbor Element to the all-mountain guy that is looking for something reliable and performance oriented, especially on groomed runs and in the trees.

"Top-of-the-range All-mountain Performer" 3/8/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Arbor Element
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Excellent traction, Fast, stable, lively, Very good response
  • Cons:  Topsheet prone to damage, Heavy for its segment, Unforgiving, for intermediate/expert riders

Experience:   Arbor's Element 2010 is easily one of the most stable, fastest, and surely prettiest all-mountain boards available. While the high retail price isn't uncommon for an Arbor board, the Element 2010 consistently delivers exceptional performance through and through. The slightly directional shape and mild setback are suitable for all-mountain performance and the multi-radius sidecuts deliver superior edge holding. Carbon reinforcements and Arbor's so-called Voodoo Core might just be a load of drivel to most of us, but the end result is one of the finest carving behaviour and stability I've ever witnessed in a board. Park performance, however, is mediocre. The Element's relatively high weight and stiff construction make it a real handful to control on rails and for spins. The Element also has a habit of punishing the rider for lazy or poor technique-- you really need to be on you toes (or heels) at all times down a hill or this board will take you for an unpleasant spill. It can be very unforgiving if your landing isn't clean either. The Eldorado wood topsheet is gorgeous and well picked, but it is too easy to damage when your friends ride their edges against it on the lift-- very unpleasant! This is especially concerning when Arbor claims that the topsheet is integral to the board's performance rather than just to look good. It's difficult to find a better example of an all-mountain board than the Arbor Element 2010. However, it became immediately obvious to me when I first used this board that this is for intermediate to expert riders only; it is not very forgiving and requires concentration to ride effectively. Despite being an all-mountain board, it isn't a top performer in the park but the Element 2010 has what I feel is unmatched performance and control in the all-mountain segment. You will know which line down the hill was yours because your carves will look like gashes in the snow compared to others.

  • Cons:  ya get tired waiting for friends to catch up,

Experience:   I freakin love this board!! I sold my Burton twin after one day on the element. I swear if you are a beginner this board will help you level up fast! the board is super classy looking too I'm 33 and tired of skulls and graffiti and pimped graphics so the Koa wood top is a breath of fresh air.

"As my first board..." 8/31/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Arbor Element
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Fast Fast Fast , Tight corners , Classic look
  • Cons:  speed, speed, speed

Experience:   I bought my 2009 arbor element from here as my first snowboard...i rode it about 10 times. Used in Mt. High, Mt. Baldy and Mammoth. This board is fast, the first time i got on it...i went holly beeeep. Again, as my first board it took me a little bit to get the hang of it, but once i learned it...it was pure fun to ride. And i am gonna continue to ride, even after 10 rides it looks like brand new. And i had few people comment on my board while I was out snowboarding. How cool is that...

"She's a babe" 8/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Arbor Element
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  fast, sexy, well made
  • Cons:  a bit heavier than some other all-mountains, top sheet is a bit fragile,

Experience:   She's a beaut and she hauls ass. After 3 years of riding beginner - intermediate board and getting it jacked at Hunter Mtn. (worst day ever), I decided to buy the Element. I've ridden this all over the Ice Coast as well big powder days in Tahoe and BC. I'm not much of a park rider, but this board kills it in anything. Before buying this board I had read that it feels like you're cheating when riding it and it really does. It'll bump up your skill level and send your fun level through the roof.

"Great Board." 2/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Arbor Element
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Super Fast, Great edge hold, Tons of pop
  • Cons:  Kinda fragile topsheet,

Experience:   This board is super fast and extremely stable at high speeds. The edge hold is just as good. Very poppy, So easy to ollie. The topsheet does seem a little fragile, somewhat easy to scratch or chip the sides. Would definitely recommend this board to anyone who wants a super quick, stable, great looking board. Also one thing you cant tell from the pics is the skulls in the graphic appear and disappear depending on the angle you are viewing the board and depending on the lighting. 2010 Arbor Element purchased from SierraSnowboard.com
