"As my snowboarding progresses so does my snowboard. I need a snowboard I can trust whether I'm standing on top of Canadian peak or taking park laps until the lifts close. This year my board is further refinement of design ideas that work for me. It has a perfect combination of flex, shape and art I'm stoked on. Most importantly, it does what I need to do, whenI need it done. - GT"

"Quick and Stable" 3/13/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: Artec Gabe Taylor Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Awesome Graphics, Great Price, Durable
  • Cons:  Too stiff for the park,

Experience:   I demoed this board in Cardrona, New Zealand and it is great for freestyle riding. It carves well at high speeds and is very stable. However, the board may be a little stiff for the park, but advanced riders will have little problem with it. I recommend this bought for all intermediates who need good looking all-round board.

  • Pros:  great flex for an allmountain board, all around awesome, sick deal on price
  • Cons:  a little stiff for the park rat, still good though,

Experience:   i wrote a previous review below- love this board! and i stand by everything i said, this board rocks! but now that i've riden it longer i have a ferw things i'd like to add. after taking it out a few times, the boards get wayyyyyy flexier than when you first take it out. now that i'vegotten better at it, riding switch and landing fakie is no problem. the stance is meant to be set back further towards the back, but i adjusted it to have a centered stance just by moving the front binding forward by screwing in the base plate one notch forward. definitely a very noticeable difference on flex when you think about it, but just stay be aware of it, and while you're riding (regular or switch) you'll be good. durability! woo! i feel like this board will last a long time for me. don't quote me on that and say that it for sure will, but it seems solid. i've put a few dents in the nose from rocks and failed rail attempts (ouch) but it's nothing i'm concerned about, it hasn't affected anything but the when you hold up the board and inspect it. before i bought this board i was told to buy what size i would use for a free ride board and not a shorter board for the park. i weigh about 165-175 and own the 159. best size choice from what i can tell. it seems to have a fairly wide base, i wear a size 10.5 boot, and it's perfect. i would say don't buy the wide board unless you have a size 11.5+ boot. this is also a great beginner board i'd say! you could start out on it, then as you progress it'll be there for you, stickin it out on the hill. -directional blunt twin tip -all mountain board -sick/badass look definitely a good choice! stay stoked!

"Award Winner for a Reason" 12/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Artec Gabe Taylor Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  pop, edge ,

Experience:   I was searching for a board that could go in the park and handle downhill speed and hold turns. This board does it all with pop in the park and nice flex for a number of tricks. And on the downhill it holds the edge great for solid turns at serious speed with smooth transitions. This board won the Good Wood award for a reason--it kills. And you gotta love that sick topsheet graphic. Thanks, Gabe for the sweet design on this board. If you want a board that will actually improve your riding, this is it.

"2010 Good Wood Award Winner for a reason" 12/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Artec Gabe Taylor Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Solid and Aggressive, Strong snap, Speed and Stability

Experience:   The shop owner recommended this board to me as it was a Winner of the 2010 Good Wood Award and I was looking for something that would allow me to pick up more speed without sacrificing stability. It took me a short while to get used to the prominent camber design (coming from zero camber) but once I got the hang of it, the ride felt really rewarding. Very solid feel! I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to beginners, might be a bit too aggressive for them. Great board overall and the graphic is SICK!
