"+1 for Bern" 2/26/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Extremely light, padding doesn't get in the way, Ends the ugly helmet stereotype
  • Cons:  A little small so get a size above,

Experience:   I watched the Moving Forward movie about an head injury Danny Toumarkine had that kinda scared me. I wanted to get a helmet after that but didn't want anything that would feel heavy or uncomfortable cause that just messes with my head when I'm snowboarding. Anyways this reached all my requirements for a helmet but it was a little smaller than I expected so I had to exchange it for a size bigger. Other than that great and pretty inexpensive helmet.

"They need to make XXL" 2/3/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Low Profile,
  • Cons:  Too Small,

Experience:   I tried this bad boy on at REI last night. I've heard good things about Bern and wanted a low profile helmet for my big head. I was a little shocked to find that their XL only fits up to a 7 1/2 hat size. I know I have a huge head at 7 3/4, which is a little abnormal, but plenty of people have 7 5/8. They really need to make a larger one in XXL or reconsider the sizing. I would rate 5 stars, but it doesn't fit. Other than that the quality is up to par and I like the brim.

"Solid Helmet" 1/25/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Protects Your Dome!,
  • Cons:  Hot,

Experience:   I have this helmet with the built in audio and I love it! It's definitely protected me on a few occassions and it has held up very well. The lining is really warm so on hot days you may want to take it out or else it can get a bit too toasty. It looks good and fits well with my Giro Station goggles which was another plus. Bottom line: protect your head and invest in a helmet and if you do, invest in this one.

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Looks Great, Fits Great and Comfy, Keeps Warm

Experience:   Had this helmet for a while. Fits like a dream and I don't even notice it being on. It also fits my face with Electric EG2 goggles. Some of the other helmets are lighter, but feel cheaper and like they don't have enough padding. The Bern Watts is a happy medium. The ear muffs definitely keep you nice and warm.

  • Pros:  Fits just right., ear covers are warm.,

Experience:   Pretty much this helmet passes all expectations I could possibly have for a helmet. It is the most durable and comfortable helmet I have ridden so far. Unlike most other helmets, the Bern does not have a break away ear flap system that inevitably falls apart after a year of use. Instead, the Watts helmet, along with most of Bern's other helmets use the snap-in knit ear covers which will keep you cozy on the coldest days. Also if you have a rather large head like myself, any other XL helmet makes me look like I have the biggest head on the planet. The Bern doesn't. Pretty much any flaw you can find in a helmet cannot be found in this one.

"Great helmet" 1/7/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Light, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Size difference when liner removed,

Experience:   Great helmet, light and comfortable, fits with most goggles well, and keeps your head warm too. However, while it's supposed to be adaptable to different seasons by removing the liner, the helmet is a lot looser when the liner is removed. I suppose this could be easily remedied by wearing some non-winter hat with the helmet if one wanted to wear this to the park in the summer.

  • Name: 2012 Bern Watts EPS Snowboard Helmet Men's
  • Pros:  Tought, Light, Simple

Experience:   Got the Baker Watts Hard Helmet in matte red. I did not get EPS foam, since it requires replacement after a few hits. Brock foam is the standard bern foam, which is still protective. Amazing helmet, very safe and secure. Looks great with gear, not too bulky. Simple warm liner that is easily replaceable if you ever get too hot or skate. Very durable, after a few runs already saved my life :p Stupid to ride without a helmet.
