  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  warm,
  • Cons:  no powder skirt,
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Nice and loose

Experience:   The fit is excellent, it is waterproof and it is a great softshell. The only downer is that I thought it had a powder skirt, other than that, it does the job.

  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Felxible material,
  • Cons:  No arm pit resh for ventilation ,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Good for warmer days

Experience:   Purchased this jacket for a friend who is pretty happy with it so far. I think this jacket is fine if your not boarding or skiing personally i think snow would creep up the back of the jacket very easily. There is no mesh in the arm pit ventilation zips which is a big downside to the jacket. Overall a cool jacket but i wouldnt recommend it as a primary jacket for boarders.

"Decent Softie" 5/9/2010

  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  lightweight, colour, waterproofing
  • Cons:  sleeves, pockets,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  fits well

Experience:   Great lightweight Bonfire softshell. I have had a couple of softshells in the past and have had so much problems with the waterproofness of them. This one stands up to the test well. i wear it as teh outerlayer on spring days and usually as a layer underneath a shell for colder or mixed up days. i love the colour of the citroen and teh jacket fits well and is very comfortable. I'm a girl so it tends to be long, but that is OK. Sleeves could be reworked to be adjustable if they release for next year - that would be a huge benefit. Not a great amount of pockets, but I tend not to find that such a bad thing. All over it is a good solid, comfortable softshell that I am happy to have. Bonfire make very decent outerwear.

"Bonfire Piper" 4/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Great softshell material,
  • Cons:  Site description needs work, No pit zips,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Good fit with room for layers

Experience:   Agree with other reviewers regarding site description. This jacket does not include fine-adjust cuffs. The waterproofing spec is 10k as the spec page shows (description page shows 7k). The goggle pocket has no closure (so it's just a pouch) and the pass pocket is non-existent. The pit zips are NOT mesh-lined which is usually a deal-breaker for me (especially in a $150 jacket). With all that said you might think I hate this jacket but oddly enough I feel the opposite! I absolutely love this jacket - the pockets are minimal but useful and right where they need to be. The softshell material is possibly the best I've ever had, and the Citron colour is amazing (nearly glow-in-the-dark)! This isn't a tech-ed out jacket with more features than you need but a super-comfortable stylish unit that can hold its own when the weather gets a little sour. The hood fits great and turns with your head (awesome for biking) and the high collar is keeps out snow and wind. The fleece is a little thinner than I expected...it's warm if I keep moving but I get a little chilled wearing a t-shirt base when the wind starts gusting to 50km/h. Overall an excellent jacket that loses a star for no mesh on the pitzips.

"Wicked Spring Riding Jacket" 4/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Light, Very stretchy , Fits well
  • Cons:  Spring riding (but this is sort of a pro) , No mesh inside pit vents,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  Fits like a snowboarding jacket should. Baggy, but not loose like you're wearing something too big.

Experience:   I live in Canada and ordered this jacket over the weekend. It arrived Wednesday. Very impressed with the speed in which the order was processed and shipped. My girlfriend wanted a pair of bindings that I had not originally included in the order. Sierra was very helpful in canceling my order and letting me submit a new order with her bindings. I haven't taken the jacket to the slopes yet, but I can tell already that this jacket is purely meant for spring riding. With the absence of a powder skirt, adjustable cuffs, etc., you wouldn't want to ride with this in deep powder. You could, and I certainly will, but I don't mind having a bit of snow down my back. Also, I have yet to see a soft shell with a powder skirt, so you really should know what you're getting before purchasing something like this. Overall, it's a badass jacket and I love the neon green (citron). Cheers.

  • Name: Bonfire Piper Snowboard Jacket Men's
  • Pros:  Fits alright, Somewhat lightweight,
  • Cons:  No mp3 pocket, No powder skirt , Not enough pockets
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  S
  • Fits Like:  S
  • Description:  Normal

Experience:   Seems like sierra put the wrong specs for this jacket. There is no cuff adjust (just plain cuffs..wide open for easy access of snow), no pass pocket, nor the snap tite as mentioned in the spec tab (I assume the snap tite is the connectivity system for the jacket and the pants.. but there is no such thing). The greatest disappointment for me was the fact that there was no mp3 pocket.. imo, for a snowboard jacket that retails for $150 should most definitely have one.. Also the black one is all lime green on the inside and not just the inner hood, so beware if you are looking for a solid black jacket. On a brighter note, the material of the shell is pretty decent, soft and flexible.. but thats about it.
