"Simple but strong and effective" 4/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (181) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Bonfire Titan
  • Pros:  Nice fit / look, Warm and waterproof, Rugged feel.
  • Cons:  Wrist velcro can get filled with snow, Velcro stiching on front pocket undone quickly, Too warm for spring
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  M
  • Description:  A bit baggy

Experience:   First time I've own snowboard specific Jacket. The jacket has insulation (not found on website description) that makes it very warm in cold weather, but heavier and a bit warm for 5 degre Celsius and above. The design is pretty simple and straight forward. The harrigton weave is nice looking and the texture of the fabric feels pretty soft on touch but rugged. I'd be more than surprise if this frabic ever rips. Though powder would stick but only slightly and shakes-off easely. The hood is not removable/stowable. Could't find if the fabric has a waterproof/breathable fabric (a membrane like gore-tex) or a coating. At the price it is most likely a coating, making it not as durable in the long term. Future will tell, I've ridden with it about 10 times (5 times in the Canadian Rockies - Banff/Sunshine/Kicking Horse) and another 5 times in my home area East Coast Québec. From cold to spring conditions. I've not been disapointed. We'll see how many season/outings the water repellent holds. Only minor flaws are the velcro stiching on the front pockets became undone quickly. Clearly the thread used or the weaving is not strong enough. Also in a wet powder days the wrist velcro became unusable because ice/wet snow became stuck in it. The hhoks part of velcro also stick a bit to the whole fabric of the coat. Could cause some fray. I like the coat a lot. Even though I make a lot of critics. I saw the same coat for 350 CAD $ in retail. Would not have paid that price for it. At the price their going now this is an incredible deal (around 70 USD).

  • Name: Bonfire Titan
  • Pros:  warm, huge underarm vents,
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  baggy

Experience:   Best jacket i have owned. Super warm, almost too warm if your running park laps all day, but huge underarm vents really cool you down. Super steezy looks. Im 5'11 170 lbs. and a large fits perfect, a little baggy, exactly what i wanted. Tons of pockets. High quality and definatley worth the price. Sick Jacket!

Experience:   This jacket is awesome. Wore it at a surfing comp in 2 degrees, rain and sleet, with gale force winds. Kept me warm and dry, water just beaded off. Fits like a dream, has vents in all the right places, and GOOD vents too. has the perfect amount of pockets and features. Dream Jacket.

"Quality Jacket" 5/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Bonfire Titan
  • Pros:  Quality made, Good materials, Looks pretty good
  • Jacket Fit:  Too big
  • My Size:  M
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  A bit big

Experience:   This jacket, like all bonfire stuff I've bought, has quality and style in one. They've used good sturdy fabric and stitching to make this a jacket that will last a while. Waterproofing and features are good. Plenty of pockets for all your stuff. Nice soft fleece up near the face keep your chin from getting rashed up when your already exposed to the elements. Hood is nice and large too. Great!

"One Worthy Upgrade" 4/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Bonfire Titan
  • Pros:  Incredibly Waterproof, Fleece Interior, Loads of Pockets
  • Jacket Fit:  Just right
  • My Size:  L
  • Fits Like:  L
  • Description:  Long right where I need it to be (sleeves, skirt, etc.)

Experience:   This is my first high-end snowboard jacket, and oh boy do I love this thing. I have been basically using a windbreaker all these years... you can imagine the improvement. First off, completely waterproof - I was curious as to what 20,000mm meant in layman's terms so I put the sleeve under my faucet running at full-blast for a good 10 seconds. The verdict? Not one bit of moisture retained. I'd almost go far as to say overkill, considering I ride in pretty dry conditions. Other than that, LOADS of pockets, many of them located where I would never even imagine putting them. Examples - the two front-lower pockets you see in the images actually have pockets on their sides as well. In addition, between the zipper and Velcro is another sort of secret pocket. Overall, a very good buy, especially when you take all of its features & price-point in consideration... and I'm definitely digging the prison stripes.
