"Not worth it. " 7/21/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  Good to start out with, and the stone is good.
  • Cons:  Tool is made out of cheap plastic and the peices don't stay in very well. The wax isn't that great either. The Dakine kits are much better.

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  Comes with a couple things, Pretty cheap when it is 80% off,
  • Cons:  Not very good tool, Small wax,

Experience:   The kit would be good if the tool wasn't all plastic and wasnt so easy to break and the wax that comes is ok wax but it is small and nothing special.

"Decent starter tuning kit" 6/18/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  Does the job, small, easy to carry.
  • Cons:  Tool is just ok, wax is not that great either.

Experience:   Found this on sale real cheap and bought it for the stone. This kit really isn't that great at the retail price, I advise buying a Dakine kit.

"Ehh nothing special" 1/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  The kit is compact and can be kept in one of your pockets in the mountain.
  • Cons:  I didn't really think its worth the 50% off price never mind the full price, the wax is really small and not the best, the tool is mostly plastic and even though small and convienient, it can break, the stone isn't anything special either.

Experience:   If your looking for a kit, go with the full dakine kit, seems like a better deal. Or just buy the stuff seperate and you'll get some better quality stuff.

"tool might be worth it, even if the wax isn't" 1/3/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  tool is lightweight, compact, and closes up with not protrusions (unlike other tools I've owned)
  • Cons:  zip tool is mostly plastic, wax not really worth it.

Experience:   I've fallen on more than one tuning tool, and have some scars to prove it. Although this zip tool is lightweight plastic (and could be prone to breakage) the compact shape when stored means you're not going to stab your beans on a nasty digger. Probably worth getting the tool separate from the kit....

"not that great." 9/1/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Basic Kit
  • Pros:  small, light, easy to carry.
  • Cons:  The tool deforms easily, the wax isn't that great.

Experience:   The way this tool works, you take the screwdriver bits and insert 'em into a hex-shaped hole in the tool. The tool however is cheap plastic. This means if you have a screw that's too tight, or it jams up - you will strip the tool! The wax is decent, but it's rub on and kind of a pain. All in all, it's not very useful. The bullet tool is far superior, and a real wax job will mean you don't even need the rub-on.
