Sierra says:
The Burton Cruzer is a great progression snowboard for the beginning rider. This board has a soft flex for easy manueverability at slow speeds to help dial down your edge control, and has a directional shape for all mountain versatility so you can explore the whole mountain while fine tuning your skills. Not only is this one of the easiest boards to learn or progress with, but it is also pretty durable so you need not worry about damaging it. If your new to the sport or just want a great progression board then pick up the Cruzer and become a shredder.

"great board" 1/3/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  can go fast, good amout of flex,
  • Cons:  not good for park riding, not the lightest but still pretty light,

Experience:   I am an expert rider and i think that this board is great for what i ride. I think that it is a great board for all skill levels if you ride all mountain. Its good for powder but not the best park board.

"Hire Board: Beginners ONLY" 4/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  forgiving flex, durable,
  • Cons:  only good for a beginner,

Experience:   I hired this board in my first week of riding. I thought it was great at the time because I hadn't tried anything else and I was starting out. But now that I have ridden many more boards it is obvious that this board is purely for beginners. Anything past 5 days riding if you learn fast is too long to spend on this board in my opinion. Sure it is great for progression but you quickly get to a point where this board would hold you back. After all that said, the board had a nice flex and seemed to be really durable. So even if you buy this board for those few days might still be worth, and why not just absolutely try to destroy it:P thats what i would do if I bought it, because would have no use for it after that first week riding. I would only suggest buying this board if you are trying boarding the first time and you want a cheap board instead of a hire board.

oh yeah forgot to add that this board seemed really heavy. But might be because i had a size just a bit to big for me.

"Excellent All mountain Experience" 3/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Excellent Progression board, Rides Powder really well, Takes well to groomed trails as well
  • Cons:  Not a lot of flex, Heavy,

Experience:   As an intermediate rider the Cruzer is an excellent board for learning how to move on a board and to understand flex more. Very durable at high speeds and low speeds it glides like a dream. Not bad for tricks, but it's just a little heavy. For any beginners who want to experiment with their riding style, or an intermediate rider who wants a durable responsive board, the Cruzer is for you.

"Good...but be cautious in purchasing" 7/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Forgiving, Stable, mostly, Durable
  • Cons:  Heavy, Low Tech, Limited use range.

Experience:   *I would almost give this three stars, but it's range is so limited that I just couldn't. Read on to find out way. The Burton Cruzer serves a very specific purpose...it's progression oriented board for those who are just beyond the n00b stage of riding. It has a lot of benefits--it's durable, easy to turn, looks okay, and it isn't very fast. I rode this board on a trip to Alaska when I couldn't bring my own boards. It served it purpose. If there was a baseline board in the world where you said, that board is just eh this would be it. I wasn't horribly disappointed, but it certainly can't do a lot of things. It's not poppy, it's a bit heavy and sluggish, it's not a blast in the park, but then again most early rider (and rental shops) are looking for cheap, stable, and durable. It's those things. I would caution anyone considering buying this board. It's a beginner board but it fits a small niche--a person who can link turns but isn't really out there getting after it yet. If you're an absolute beginner, buy a board that's light and even easier to turn. And, if you see any of my other reviews, I am huge advocate of beginner board that can be put to service as park or jib boards after you graduated from them. That way, they still have value. You can't really do that with this board--it's just too limited. However, in it's favor it's cheap and durable and doesn't suck. Perfect rental board--go rent it, but try not to buy it.

"Decent Beginner Board" 4/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Stable, Easy to ride,
  • Cons:  Heavy, Not too flexible, Pretty slow

Experience:   I've used this board three times at various mountains through the rental shops, and I have no complaints other than it is VERY basic. After buying my own board(sierra crew) I realized how slow the rental boards actually are. But that is a good thing since most people rent to learn. If you are buying your first board or just want to rent for the first time, i would definitely recommend this board.

"Nice Board" 4/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Cruzer
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Good Design, Carving is good,
  • Cons:  Not the best for High Speeds,

Experience:   I used this board as a rental and it was nice. I am not very picky, I'll ride any board. I do not ride in the terrain park, only the mountain. It's a fun board to ride.
