  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Stable at High Speads,
  • Cons:  A bit heavy due to being wide,

Experience:   I have bought 162wide size. Height 6'2. Weight 180lb . Have 13 boot size . Bindings Cartel EST. No Toe Drag at all. Very stable at high speeds but feels a bit heavier than my Joystick. That is why it was a bit harder to throw it around in the beginning. Better grip on the icy surfaces than Joystick had but it had much more stability and control at speeds at the same time was almost as playful and forgiving as Joystick due to V shape. Overall I am very happy with this board.

"Custom Is What it Is" 10/25/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Its a Custom, Pretty Light,

Experience:   I demo'ed this particular board last year in a 161. It was a bit awkward at first but after the 3rd run and after setting my binding up and adding some forward lean, the board rode real nice. The board was very forgiving, easy to turn and fast. The rocker made it playful, and the the camber under foot made it very responsive. It isn't nearly as responsive as my camber board (RIDE No4) but it isn't a fully cambered board to begin with. The board had a lot of pop, and to be honest, it does live up to what people say about it. I'd have one in the quiver, but Not sure if i want to do the hybrid route just yet. I've done rocker (banana), flat top and camber, but this was my first hybrid. It definitely had that right in the middle feel. If you put some money down on this.. it won't disappoint...

"Burton Flying V - awesome" 6/7/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Flying V, Frost edges,
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   I hired a 160cm board for 8 days in Whistler earlier this year and the board can do it all. Two days of deep powder, a couple of days of frosty chatter and days of nice coverage. Rode both mountains on nearly all the runs and rode off piste any chance I could find. Dont know how it would go in a park, but if you are looking for an all mountain board then I would strongly recommend taking one for a test ride. I am sure you will be impressed. The board has good flex, but not too soft and it just sits beautifully under foot under any conditions.

"Best board EVER" 4/11/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Squeezebox, Flying V, Channel system

Experience:   I just upgraded to this board from the 2010 custom regular camber and i have to say im glad i did. The 2010 had great pop and this had more. the 2010 had great edge hold even when i had them detuned them and i havent done that yet to this board but when i do i hope its the same. the 2010 had decent flex and this board had more with more pop and was just so playful and i love jibbing with it and didnt know what to expect with the flying v and squeezbox but it just was amazing. everything i asked for and MORE. I wont be surprised when this wins good wood and all the other awards for board because this is just the best board Ihave ever ridded. i have only had problems in slush when going off a jump and just started rotating foward all of a sudden and landed upside down and still havent figured out why but the base doesnt really let anything get to the core except jagged rocks and i am sad to say had to get it repaired but doesnt matter i cant tell the difference with it REI did a good job with the PTEX but ive run over trees rocks roofing grass dirt anything and the sharp rocks the only thing thats gotten in. BUT i did run into a tree and i got a slight crack in the base layer but nothing big and i hit it pretty hard so just a durrable board worth more than the $500 that i paid for it without a doubt. I realize why almost every burton rider switched to the custom this year because it is a BEAST! Also i HIGHLY reccomend getting EST bindings with it. this is easily the best feeling i have had with a board/binding combo youy just get unbelievable feel, response and control

"Por siempre Custom" 4/3/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced

"It does it all!" 1/24/2012

  • Name: 2012 Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Super Fast, Flexible, Great Edge Hold
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   My friend let me ride this and it was the best thing I've ever strapped to my feet! The speed I could get on this board was amazing and it never felt squirrely. I took it off the trails and floated through powder with ease. It had a surprising amount of flex for how stable it felt and I could butter pretty well while going down the slopes. I would buy it if it wasn't so expensive but it does make me want to look into buying a Burton next season for sure! Bottom line: If you want a great all mountain board that can handle anything you come across, this board is for you.
