"Jack of All Trades, Master of None" 11/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (3) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Floats in POW! , Has a little more grip than V-rocker, Soft presses with ease
  • Cons:  Don't be fooled, still unstable, Not an enjoyable ride in variable conditions, Soft... Super soft.

Experience:   Just like Danny Davis said like a skateboard with loose trucks! The Flying-V offers the best of both worlds of reverse camber/camber. However, I felt like this board was more on the Reverse camber side of spectrum. You can slightly feel the benefits of the camber under the foot in situations like a high speed carve and ollies but its definitely NOT camber and does not give the high performance you would expect from the Custom range. Under variable conditions (icy crud and bumps) you do get bounced around! However, in powder, it floats with ease and it is a real joy to ride... but if you want a powder board, why don't you just get a V-rocker. Flying-V, great concept but still needs a lil' more development.

"niceee board!" 3/10/2011
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  easy to turn, light, edge hold,
  • Cons:  stability,

Experience:   I usually ride a Burton Custom(2009) and Nug(2011). This board is between the two. Good edge hold and great at carving like the Custom and playful like the Nug. It's not as fast as the regular Custom, but still shreds hard! Great do it all board.

  • Cons:  nothing,

Experience:   I got this board for my birthday and then rode with it in mammoth duriong the huge storm where they recieved 17+ ft and it rode great in the pow, then i went to beaver creek and hit the park and the groomers, there could never be a more perfect all mountain board

"Lacks Edge Hold on Ice/ Hardpack" 2/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  None,
  • Cons:  No edge grip under moderately icy conditions, Expensive,

Experience:   I really wanted to like this board as I learned to ride on a Burton... what a disappointment. Very poor edge hold under standard icy/ hardpack east coast conditions. The frostbite edges are a joke. My Lib Tech TRS with magnetration is 100x more effective. Definitely not worth the high price tag.

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Good at high speeds, solid all over the mountain,
  • Cons:  graphics,

Experience:   This board is really good, i got it last year and im very satisfied. Although it didnt snow too much last year, i had a good amount of runs in with it. I reccomend this board to anyone trying to get better at all around snowboarding. Not the biggest fan of the graphics though

"The Go Anywhere Board" 9/10/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Stable, Poppy, All-Around
  • Cons:  Jack of all, Master of None.,

Experience:   I'm a big fan of this board... it's been my go to for 2 seasons now when conditions are variable. I feel as if this is the board to choose if you are looking for a do it all deck. Holds a good edge on all types of snow, yet is nimble and playful enough to throw it around when things get really bumped up late in the day (east coasters you know what I'm saying). I will say that in powder and/or trees I do prefer something a tad smaller and lighter, but that doesn't mean this board cant handle it. It's just a matter of preference and availability, if i had to travel and bring one deck... this would be the one. If you are looking for a dedicated park slayer or tree killer, you might want to keep looking elsewhere, but if you are looking for a great all-mountain ride... this is the one. Fast, nimble, great edges, catch free hybrid rocker, ICS channel.... killer stuff.

"Fast and playful" 8/27/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  fast, playful, easy to ride
  • Cons:  can get slightly unstable,

Experience:   First off the board rides the way I like. It can feel a little squirrly running high speeds, but I like that, you know it's fast. Surprisingly easy to play on, it almost feels as if you are cheating, The board responds so well...All around great board for all experience levels.

"Muy buena, rocker mejorado" 8/22/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced

"A Win!?" 8/14/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Versatile, Dream in pow, Still can handle park
  • Cons:  Easy scratches, $$$,

Experience:   I got this last year around november. I live in so cal so i usually am riding major slush at mountain high. I have also used it in tahoe and let me tell you.....It floats in 3 feet of powder like nothing else. The est system is easy to learn and use. It can also handle some pretty decent park settings. It does scratch easily but its still worth it! GREAT all around board....I wouldn't even bother with the 2012 Custom!

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great in pow, Good pop,
  • Cons:  UnStable,

Experience:   I demoed this board before it came out it was a pow day and loved it so I pre ordered it before the season. Then I won a reverse crew so I rode that before I got my custom in. I just love the reverse crew so much that I rode that most of the season I think I picked up the custom up a few times I just could get comfortable on it... Great in pow fun in the park horrible on ice and groomers... Now I Sony ride either of my board I ride my NUG everywhere
