"Awesome." 11/6/2010

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Works with your skill level, Makes you smile!,
  • Cons:  Can lose it's nerve at speed,

Experience:   My first board was a 2010 Custom flying-V. I picked it up for a steal off here, but was initially worried i'd bitten off more than i could chew in terms of skill level. All those worries were laid to rest the first time I got it on the mountain, and I can say with experience any custom board will work with you as you progress from beginner onwards. So when I got the chance to demo the 2011 model, i jumped at it. Then i jumped on it. In all fairness i only had a couple of hours on it, but it feels a lot like the '10 model (which is in no way a bad thing.) Just like last year's board, the 2011 tends to lose it's edge and skit out when you carve at speed, but maybe that's just an accepted trait of an all-mountain board. Despite being a directional you can ride switch without a worry too. It turns well, it pops well, it encourages you to go have fun on it. Overall, worth every penny... especially at 50% off - thankyou Sierra/Trusnow! :)

  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  versatility, stability, light
  • Cons:  wont hold on ice,

Experience:   i love this board. it is sooo versatile. i took this board in the pow, in the park, on the groomers, just about anywhere you can think of on the mountain, this board can do it. it just gets a little bit sketchy on the ice patches at times, but nothing too bad. this board is very stable. i can bomb runs and not have to worry about catching an edge or falling down. it is also incredibly light. this makes for great spins. i think this board was a little pricy but was worth every penny. i would definately recommend this board.

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Great versitillity, good at everything,

Experience:   This is an amazing board, it is the first board in my eyes that is a legit all-mountain snowboard. I honestly can't tell you what this board is best at, Park, pow, groomers, of trail, high speeds because it is amazing at every single one! This board isn't one-sided for any thing because it flourishes at every single one! It has the perfect amount of flex which makes it so versatile. Even though the regular custom is a great board but the custom flying-v has better powder and park riding to to softer landing in the park and the nose lift in the pow which is why burton is starting to make more and more flying-v boards

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Good Feel, Lightweight, rocker/ camber
  • Cons:  A little soft for my taste,

Experience:   At first I was skeptical about the flying V because last year Burton did such a good job with their Custom V Rocker. However one run turned me in to a believer. The Rocker Camber give mad good edge hold while you can still get fat pop out of it. The frostbite edge is also pretty good. On the box I pressed it out until i was almost completely on the nose. Definately a great board and pretty cheap as well

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Fantastic Manuverability, Sick Graphics, Great for the whole mountain
  • Cons:  Top coat can be scratched easily,

Experience:   The flying v gives the best of both worlds between the Rocker and Camber. Rocker on tip and tail for great glide and speed on groomers as well as nice tracking on approaches in the park, and camber under the feet along with frost bite edges that allow for holding nice long turns on more icy conditions. This is truly the board for a park rat who also likes to spend some time on the rest of the mountain.

  • Cons:  wont hold on icey surface,

Experience:   this is my first board and all i have to say is WOW! the board wants to pop! it has great speed and turns amazing...the only thing i didnt like about the board is that it wouldnt hold an edge on icey surfaces...but other than that the board is great for any part of the mountain...will float in pow and because of the flying V its real stable highly recommend this board!

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Wide, Light,

Experience:   I demoed this board with custom EST bindings. I own an older custom, and the wide made a difference for me. My main beef with the custom was how narrow it was, this took care of that. I did not take it into the park, mainly groomed trails that day. Overall the board handled great!

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Burton Warrantee, Sweet Flex, Awesome on pow days
  • Cons:  Sketchy through icy patches,

Experience:   After buying the 2010 custom v-rocker from sierrasnow/trusnow at 50% off msrp and throughly enjoying it last winter, I sent my board into Burton because of a crack in the laminate on the nose that I could not explain. They gave me my choice of the 2011 custom or the custom flying v and even let me go from a 156 to a 155w. The result is that I have a brand new board that I love and I think will support me as I progress from straight up gaper to something a bit more stylish.

  • Name: Burton Custom Flying V Wide Snowboard 155 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  The all mountain slayer,
  • Cons:  This board doesn't know what this means.,

Experience:   I bought my 2010 Burton Custom from here last year...rode it for one week and LOVED it. When I took my bindings off, the reference numbers under the bindings faded. Burton replaced me with a 2011 model for no extra charge (I just had to pay to ship my board to VT). The 2011 model is sick! The pictures on any website do it NO justice. The top sheet is beautiful; they even left out a little square so that you can see the wood running side to side. I go on vacation Jan 31st and will report on how I carve up Park City.
