"The Custom X " 12/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom X Snowboard
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Fast, Stable,
  • Cons:  Unforgiving,

Experience:   My friend owns the Custom X and I took it for a spin couple times down the mountain and all I have to say that this board is just great. It is fast and I mean very fast. Note that I am beginner snowboard rider. This board is very stiff and it makes it very easy to stop and control. I love how quickly and effortfully it is to come to a stop with this board. I would not recommend this board as your first board because it is not designed towards beginners. I don't mean to discourage new riders but this board needs a pro. The board is not very forgiving. If you don't know what you are doing, you will either be on your face or on your back. Take it from a beginner. My shoulder plate still hurts from falling with this board. Having said all this I am more then confident that this board will be my next as soon as I can learn to ride better.

"Alto nivel en Tablas Burton" 10/15/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom X Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced

"Great All around board" 2/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom X Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Stiff, Great design, infinite ride

Experience:   Great board. Can't say enough. This board is kind of stiff so it is better for steep terrain and powder and stuff like that, but it isn't too stiff so you can still go in the park. The edges stay sharp for a long time and the board has Burton's infinite ride so it's good forever.

"Awesome Board" 12/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom X Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Stable, Fast, Everything Board
  • Cons:  So so in POW,

Experience:   I took this board out on demo day and just did not want to bring it back! Took it as long as I could without feeling guilty! :) That much fun. Board is solid on hardpack, ice, crud and chop. I was pushing the board and it was fast, solid and stable. Pops great and charges hard. Base was fast though not as fast as my T6. Edge hold was real good as well. I could feel VERY comfortable on it going top speed and dropping trails from green to diamond. It is a stiff board, but handles sweet if you're used to stiff boards. I took it through some deep natural stuff and it handled fine. But involved leg burn as I was pushing on the back leg to keep nose float. This is only in reference to reverse camber boards which are much easier in POW but not as solid all around. Otherwise, it was fine. Loved this board. And if I did not have a similar board (T6), I think I would want one in my quiver. Great for Intermediate - Advanced rider who loves to charge the whole mountain all day, ride all terrains and in all conditions. Cheers...

"Ripping Aggressive Board" 12/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Custom X Snowboard
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  So stable, Great for high speed carving,
  • Cons:  Feels cumbersome at slow speeds,

Experience:   The custom x is a rad advanced board. It excels at carving at high speeds. This is the most stable board I have ever ridden. I would recommend it for anyone who loves carving at high speeds. This board is intended to go fast in my view because when cruising on the board at slower speeds it really feels a little unwieldy. I am not an advance freestyle rider so I cannot comment it how it performs for someone at a higher level than me freestyle wise. For an intermediate freestyle rider I would not recommend this board. I am 5' 9 160 pounds and I rode the 160. I know that many would consider that big for someone with my specs but I that is what I like for speed. It is possible that the board would be a lot more maneuverable at intermediate speeds if I were to have ridden let's say the 156. I did ride the 158 a few times and did feel a little bit of loss in stability and it didn't feel any more manageable at slower speeds. Additionally, this board powers thru anything with ease. My buddy owns this board so I have ridden it many times since we like to swap boards a lot.
