Sierra Says: Day hike this! Perfect for a little backcountry booter action. Pack up a lunch, the walkie talkies, maps and maybe even a few adult beverages. It’s going be a good day.

"Excellent Pack." 10/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Day Hiker 20L
  • Pros:  compact size but large interior, excellent graphics, comfy straps
  • Cons:  No mp3 pocket,

Experience:   This pack is very compact but the size on the inside seems massive. The padding on the straps and backplate is very comfy. The graphics are really cool. I have the white with all the black drawing on it and have gotten many compliments. It has a felt lined goggle pouch and is hydration compatible which is very handy. I havn't rode with it but plan to. The boards carry straps seem to do a decent job but i wouldn't use this if you were going to be doing a lot of hiking. My only complaint is i would have liked to see an mp3 area with a spot to put headphones through, but thats not that big of a deal. I highly recomend this pack.

"2011 Day Hiker 20L" 2/14/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Day Hiker 20L
  • Pros:  slim, aesthetics,
  • Cons:  could use some more compartments, nothing to deter,

Experience:   I replaced my Dakine Heli Pro with the NEW 2011 Day Hiker due to the fact of me needing something less bulky for a typical day on the mountain rather than the Heli Pro, which would be ideal for a trip into the back country. I was a little skeptical of Burton packs having never owned one. Especially coming from a Dakine, and double especially coming from the Heli Pro. BUT.. I was more than pleased with my purchase in the end. So much that I decided to not even keep my Heli Pro. It's alot less bulky than other packs i've used and even when loaded down with a few bottles of water/gatorade and a sandwhich or 2 felt lightweight. Has a fleece lined goggle pouch and a laptop sleeve. I will admit, there aren't near the amount of individual perks on this Day Hiker but, one wouldnt really need much just to carry your gear around with you at the slope. Saves you from having to get a locker and you've got all your stuff with you on hand. The only difference from 2010/2011 is minor aesthetic (look) changes on the outside. I actually like the 2011 better than the 2010 but as far as specs go, they're the same pack.

"Day Hiker" 8/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Day Hiker 20L
  • Pros:  Looks crazy, Shovel pocket, Hydration!

Experience:   I always forget to drink on the mountain because i'm to busy shredding so being able to have a hydration pack is awesome, the internal shovel pocket in this baby is so good because you don't have to worry about everything getting wet when you put your shovel back in your bag, the waist strap gives great support when your board is trapped in and the overall size of the bag is just perfect, very happy with this bag and would recommend it!
