Sierra Says: The Deuce is a versatile snowboard with a simple design and friendly price tag. This board is great for anybody looking for something fairly mellow, yet willing and able to turn it up when necessary. Although this board has a friendly flex and moderate sidecut, features like a speedy sintered base and Super Fly core give you a taste of what lies ahead. We recommend the Deuce especially for the intermediate rider that is looking to progress quickly while having a blast.

Burton Says: Straightforward and packed with all the shred essentials, the Deuce is all about maximizing your hard-earned buck. Get the superior edge-hold, pop, and strength of our legendary Super Fly core, the hopped-up speed and durability of our Sintered base, and the easy spinning feel of ultra-light Pro-Tips. We even put the Deuce through our Infinite Ride factory break-in for the perfect pop that lasts longer than you will.

"Ideal beginners/progression board" 6/10/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Deuce
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Edge holding, Speed, Price
  • Cons:  Stiffness, Weak top sheet,

Experience:   This was is my first snowboard I've owned, after riding nothing but nailed rentals for months I spotted this on Sierra and bought it straight off; coupled with some Burton Custom bindings. First time I rode it my riding improved ten fold, the ease of holding an edge and carrying speed is amazing; it even turns easily at speed too. The flex of the board is enough to let you feel the terrain but not too much that you end up bailing because of it. The range for stance is easily enough for most riders to find their fit and the top sheet looks funky too, but not over the top. Sadly though this board is stiff when it comes to park, it's not too stiff that you can't hit any kickers or rails but for a newbie park rider it doesn't make ollies easy. If you're just going to ride it down the hill then this really won't affect you. The top sheet probably will though, it's sooo weak it's unreal. Marks up really easily and when a skier decides to stand on your tail in the lift queue it's game over. So get collecting those stickers now. All in all, this board is sweet for people new to 'boarding or those that want to progress their skills. I'm in no rush to get a replacement for it, but I'll be picking up a park board soon...I'll grab the Stunt straight away if Sierra ever drop it back to $99 again. ;)

"Burton Deuce" 2/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Deuce
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  fast, durable, medium flex
  • Cons:  offers only a little bit of everything,

Experience:   this board is great for the intermediate rider that has no clue what he is looking for. at this price tag, it is quite a bargain. generally, any board under 400 bucks won't give you a good board with a specified function. this intermediate board gives you an ultrafast core and sintered base with an average sidecut for progressing freeriders. at the same time, the durable board gives a twin shape for aspiring free stylers. it might be a bit stiff and heavy for those in the park, but it will def allow you to mess around there. the only problem i had is that the top sheet not only scratches up, but it gets chipped on the edges pretty easily. but then again, i ride pretty hard. basically, this is a middle of the line board for a decent all mountain ride at a cheap price.

  • Cons:  little heavy, slow,

Experience:   it's a decent board for beginner to intermediate rider. it is a little slow though, but i believe it can be solved with waxing. and anyway you don't need huge speeds when you're a beginner. don't think that it's a good board for tricks cause it a bit heavy. best for groomed runs, pretty good in powder. overall, one of the best cambers for its price

"Decent for what its worth" 4/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Deuce
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Easy to ride,
  • Cons:  Too soft for my taste, Top sheet scuffs too easy,

Experience:   This was my board to ride coming into the 2010 season. Although it was great and I loved the graphics, the top sheet of this board scuffed really easy. I also found it easy to ride on powder and groomed runs, but when it came to ice the edges didn't hold as well as I had hoped for. This board is otherwise decent, but not for long trails as this is too soft of a board in my opinion to ride non stop for a long period of time.

"Had fun learning on this board..." 2/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Deuce
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Great Graphics, Good Beginner Board, Good Deal
  • Cons:  Very Heavy, Too Stiff, Top Sheet Scratches Easily

Experience:   I purchased this board and packaged them the Burton Freestyle Bindings to learn on. It was a great board to progress to a higher level. Very stiff, but thats what you want when you are learning to link turns and carve. I got a great deal on this board, that it only cost me $250 brand new with the bindings. I will keep this board to ride every now and then, but I have moved on within 2 seasons to a better board. Not to knock this board, just I felt like I needed something better for me to keep getting better at riding.

"Good Progression Board" 2/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Deuce
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Looks Good, Good Beginner Board, Graphics
  • Cons:  Very Heavy, Top Sheet Scratches Easily,

Experience:   I purchased this board as a beginner and used it to become a better rider. The graphics are pretty cool, the board itself is pretty heavy and alittle too stiff for my liking. Hard to do jumps and jibs on this board. Overall, a good board to learn on.
