"Prey at the top of the park food chain. The Dominant™, with Burton's NEW P-Rocker™, is all about stacking new tricks. Zero Camber between your feet focuses control and creates a “loose-trucks” feel. Subtle rockers lift the tip and tail, giving you the power to press with He-Man strength while reducing your risk of rag-dolling. The street-tuned Rail Ready™ edges seal the deal in your quest to stomp moves that haven’t even been named yet. "

"Burton Dominant" 2/26/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  V-Rocker, Soft Flex, Forgiving
  • Cons:  A bit shaky at high speeds,

Experience:   The Burton dominant is a amazing snowboard that can be used all around the mountain. The V-Rocker on this board is great, which is good for rails, boxes ect.But this board also performs very well in powder, I only went is about 3-4ft of fresh pow but was very stable and floated very well. The board is also extremely light. The pro tip construction is very effective in reducing the spin weight. However the board can be come a bit shaky at hight speeds. But overall a very good board indeed.

"09 Dom" 12/18/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  cool graphic, rail ready, pop
  • Cons:  bit heavy, delaminated in a week,

Experience:   While I was able to use this board it was fun had a lot of pop and came ready to hit the park. This is a very park oriented board is not the best off trail or in the pow. I didn't have any problems with it until it delaminated on me :( just not enough epoxy in a layer you have a very low chance of it delaminating on you. Overall not a bad board but not for the $$ just pay the extra $30 and get the 2010 Dom..

"Solid hybrid board for the quiver" 12/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Nice flat/rocker combo shape, poppy, responsive when riding aggressively
  • Cons:  stiffer than I wanted it to be,

Experience:   Got this board as old stock this season brand new in the 159. Riding it with 2011 Burton Cobrasharks and Ion Boots. Butters well, but you have to throw your weight into it. Stable at high speed and pops well, but plenty playful enough for the park (love it on boxes rails). Carves and jumps very well, but at the cost of being rather stiff. Not a buttered noodle by any means. Great board for the if you own a couple and want a mid-range all mountain freestyle board on the wide side. Would be OK as a one board-quiver for an intermediate to advanced rider.

"Too stiff" 7/26/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  stable,
  • Cons:  too stiff, poor quality,

Experience:   The dominant was the best board for park for a few years running back in 05-06ish. Now, it feels like a shadow of its former self. Super stiff, not so great for pressing, and the topsheet chips very easily. This board has become the bottom of burtons barrel.

"good park board" 1/21/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  great pop, soft,
  • Cons:  heavy, unstable,

Experience:   I demo'd this board and it was heavier than most of the boards I've experienced. Good pop and probably one of the more fun boards I've ridden. Not the best board if you're looking to go fast.

"Decent" 1/12/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Dominant Snowboard Boy's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great design, Good jumper, Good in pow
  • Cons:  Only compatible with Burton Bindings, Not too great on rails, A little heavy

Experience:   The 2009 Burton Dominant is a decent board. I personally enjoy jibbing more than just hitting straight jumps and riding powder, which is what this board rides best on. It has a medium to hard flex, which is not what I was looking for. It also has a directional flex, with the tail being softer than the nose, making presses and butters a little more difficult. The edges stay sharp, which is good or bad, depending on your preferred riding terrain. Also, if you don't have Burton bindings, make sure you have burton baseplates, because it doesn't have the standard four hole mounting system.
