Burton Emerald Snowboard Boots Burton Emerald Snowboard Boots

Foot Shape: Average to Wide
Flex: Rate 6

Boot Review by Mike: In our store the Burton Emerald boots are customers favorites. These boots are favorites of many because they are affordable, very comfortable, easy to lace and always match Burton boards and bindings perfectly. With the Burton Emerald boots you can have your cake and eat it to. Moreover, these boots are wide. If you have a wide foot and other boots hurt, check these out. The Emerald boots will give your toes some breathing room.

Boot Review by Aaron: The Burton Emerald is so hot, one time I had to send my girlfriend to another shop because we were out of stock.

"Average Boots" 2/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Emerald Snowboard Boots
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Durable
  • Cons:  Hard to lace, Difficult in & out
  • Fit:  average

Experience:   I got these boots mainly because of the great price. I didn't want to rent stinky rental boots anymore, so I wasn't too picky with what I wanted, price was the mian factor. The "speed lacing" is a bit stiff, so it would take some effort to pull hard enough to actually tighten the laces (would ask for help from my bf most of the time). Even when the laces are at their tightest, the tongue of the boots would be far from flushed against my shin. Also, not sure if it's just my feet, but the right boot would feel like it's pinching my big toe after a while, and the left boot chafed my inside ankle. I wore thin wool boarding socks and made sure my long underwear was flush and not bunched up anywhere. I upgraded my boots to the DC Boa Moras (bought them 50% off). So I would recommend spending a few extra bucks for better boots than settle for these.

Experience:   I liked the faux cork sole & browns my color so I really liked the look! I liked the lace system, quick and easy. They are comfortable and warm but I used the boots a lot for one season and by spring my feet were wet all the time!

"Lacing system didn't work for me" 5/18/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Emerald Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Look nice,
  • Cons:  Sore feet and ankles.,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  UK5

Experience:   I didn't get on with these boots, they were the first boots I ever bought and I used to get real bad foot pain. If I wore them loose I got loads of heal lift and if I wore them tight I got really bad pain from my knee down after one run. I just couldn't get used to them. The lace system just didn't work for me. I actually sold them to a friend and got a new pair. I went Burton again but this time I went with normal laces and never had foot pain again. There's lots a great comments on these boots and the lace system so I'm sure they just weren't right for me. It's a shame because they look great.

Experience:   The boots are fine. They are comfortable to walk around in and is very very warm. But after about 5 rides, my heel is coming up and it is always a battle getting these on and off. I'm trading up next season.

"Good, reliable boots" 1/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Emerald Snowboard Boots
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Durable, Good quality, Warm, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Difficult in & out
  • Fit:  stiff

Experience:   Maybe it's my wide feet, but I have trouble putting these on and taking them off. I've tried other boots before and I couldn't wait to take them off after a couple of hours. I can wear these all day no problem. They keep my feet warm and once they packed out, they fit my foot like a glove. I can deal with the lacing system.. sometimes it's difficult to get them snug enough.
