Sierra Says: The Freestyle Jr. binding is perfect for getting the youngsters introduced to the sport. Built with the super easy Onestrap, it is a piece of cake strapping these on and ripping them off. Pick up a pair of these and get the little one up and going.

Burton Says: Kid-friendly cruise control for the park and pipe. Built to the same standards as our adult bindings, but with kid-friendly modifications, the Freestyle Jr. is all about giving the kids the ability to get in, get up, and go all on their own. They'll have no problem using the mitt-friendly Onestrap, which features oversized everything for easy entry and exit. Add the redesigned, incredibly lightweight, and soft-flexing hi-back and junior is set to take over the entire mountain.

  • Name: Burton Freestyle Jr. Youth
  • Pros:  quick in... and out,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Both my son and daughter are sporting these babies!!! The instructor at Aspen/Snowmass was so impressed that a 6 yr old could buckle himself in. Plenty of tweaks in the binding to set your kid up with. Highly recommended.

  • Name: Burton Freestyle Jr. Youth
  • Pros:  adjustablitly, single strap, durable
  • Cons:  lock tight everything, youth size can be a little big for sz3 & under,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   Great binding for the little ones to learn with. For the most part it's like srtting up an adault rig, the problem I ran into was my kids couldn't really tell me if they liked the way adjustments felt.

  • Name: Burton Freestyle Jr. Youth
  • Pros:  Single strap, Easy to get into and out of, Great stater binding
  • Cons:  Not the easiest to adjust, Had to lock tight every screw,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   This is a great starter binding for small hands. One strap makes it easy for my little shredder (turned 6 last season) to get into on his own, no confusing toe and heel straps. They seem to be as durable as my bindings. My boy and I liked them so much that I got the pink set (like I had a choice) for my 4yr old daughter. They can be difficult to adjust, the size makes it hard to get large hands and tools into the right places. I also had to lock-tight (blue) every screw (not the deck screws, factory applied).

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Freestyle Jr. Youth
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Poor adjustability

Experience:   Decent beginner's binding. My daughter has the youth sized one paired with size 2 boots. The binding seems a little too big for her boot and it is a bit difficult to find the best settings for the strap but nothing a lot of experimenting can't solve. My daughter does have some difficulty getting strapped in since she has to twist the strap a bit to get it lined up with the buckle. She's getting used to it so it's not a big deal.
