"fits nicely" 1/12/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  fits nicely, the lacing system is nice,
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  7.5
  • Boot Size:  7.5

Experience:   nothing bad to say about the hails. i got them on sale and they're a good pair of boots. i only go about 4 or 5 days a year and they're still in nice condition. i love the quick lace system and it makes it easy to get that inner part laced up and then just do a few hooks on the outside and you're good to go!

"Great reasonably-priced boot" 12/29/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Flexy, comfortable,
  • Cons:  not as waterproof as I'd like, can cut your laceholders easily, not too responsive for carving
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   This is a great park-oriented boot, definitely on the flexy side of things, which makes it quite comfortable. Heck, I'd wear these around town if it was snowy. However, after a full day boarding, I'll notice that they do tend to let in moisture a bit more than I would like. Also, the way the lace holders are built in, if you have the bad habit of resting your board on your feet on the lift you'll cut them in a hurry. Personally, I prefer a slightly-stiffer boot (Vans Aura) as it seemed I could never get these tight/firm enough to get the level of control I wanted.

"Best heel hold" 2/2/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Articulating Cuff, Strong achilles grabber,
  • Cons:  Thin footbed, Hard to put your foot in,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  7.5
  • Boot Size:  7.5

Experience:   The boots have super thick achilles grabber so they are hard to put on but in turn gives the best heel hold. The footbed is paper thin so go buy some aftermarket footbeds.

"Good Boot" 1/13/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  warm and comfortable,
  • Cons:  sizing a bit off from 2010 model,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5/11

Experience:   I am very happy with this boot... for the most part. Just got back from a few days in NC and my feet enjoyed the new boots. I tried on a new pair of the 2010 models at a friends house and it seems like the sizing of the 2009 model is just a bit small. The 10.5 is like 2 cm too short for my big toe, but I assume that the more I wear them - the less of an issue this will be. Other than that... you can't go wrong for the $$$.

I also own a pair I bought last year and they're still on of my fav pair of boots! They look awesome, def have the style and aren't stiff as the lower end Burton boots.

"Warm, Comfy Boot" 12/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfortable,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  11.5

Experience:   I've been wearing the 09 model of this boot for the past two seasons and it's been great. I was new to boarding last year and took a shot with these while they were on sale. I haven't had any regrets with this boot. They are extremely comfortable and my feet have not gotten cold at all. They feel stiff and secure. I wear a 10 1/2 shoe but the closest size was 11.5. They don't feel big and my foot doesn't move around at all inside. Even though they fit me fine, if they were available in a 10.5 or 11 at the time I would have gone with the smaller size.

"Good pair of boots" 12/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Warm, Durable,
  • Cons:  Sqeaky ,
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  9.0

Experience:   I bought this boot a couple years ago and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I bought them at a shop in Atlanta. I'm not sure I got the most knowledgeable fitter but he recommended getting half size smaller. They were mildly uncomfortable the first few times out but after they broke in they fit like a glove. They are very warm and durable. Also easy to keep clean. A nice feature was they came with extra laces. The only negative is they squeak like a mofo. My best guess is the squeaking comes from the articulating cuff rubbing on the lower part of the boot. There will be no sneaking up on anyone while wearing these boots. I used these boots on mostly groomed runs in New Mexico and Arizona. They have been through a few powder days with no problems. They worked well with the Forum republic bindings. The toe shape is kind of blunt so they don't fit as well with the toe straps on the Union Force bindings as my DC boots do. I mostly just putt around so I can't attest on their jumping ability. Overall good durable boot worth the price.

"super nice! " 11/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  comfy, warm, super fly
  • Cons:  not for wide feet,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   i got these boots after hearing good things, and they were all true. the temperature's gotta get pretty low for your feet to get cold, they're always warm. on top of being warm they're super comfy. pretty much the ultimate boot as far as i can tell. your feet aren't going to come loose either, of course you'll have to tighten them, but they stay really good for a long time. again not for wide feet, average to narrow feet are good.

Experience:   This is a great boot and no wonder is is rated #1. I normally wear a size 13 shoe, but i got this boot in a 12 because i liked the fit better and the toe box broke in allowing for a little more wiggle room. great boot

  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   These boots will assist you in any area of the mountain under any condition. I've had my Hails since 2008 and they are the best boot I've ever slid my foot into. I have a wide foot and these wrap it perfectly. They are very flexible very durable. I recommend heat molding because it saves so much time as well.

"Comfy boot but..." 10/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Hail Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  keeps your feet warm, comfy, good response
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8-8.5
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   these boots are a great boot for all mountain use, they keep your feet nice and warm, they are comfy, but like another reviewer commented its not the best for people with wide feet... my right foot is slightly wider than my left and after a full day of riding my pinky toe is a little achy and numb, i have the 09 model and haven't got the chance to test out newer versions small issue but never the less great boot!
