Sierra Says: Introduced last season, the Ozone was an instant hit. This boot is very similar to the Hail, but features the Speed Zone lacing system and EST optimized sole. With a mid-soft flex, the Ozone is ideal for the avid park rider that needs a lightweight, softer boot with enough cushioning to absorb the hardest impacts.

Burton Says: Anyone can make a boot lighter. Few can do it well. The result of Mason and Jack Mitrani's challenge to purge everything but the essentials, the Ozone proves that weightlessness need not sacrifice what matters most: durability and rideability. Soft yet supportive, with a shorter footprint, powerful cushioning, and stupid-simple lacing, this boot's got it all, including an EST midsole for magnified board feel and control.

"Super light" 1/15/2012

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Light,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   Great light boot. The only problem I've had is that the lacing system doesn't stay tight. Once I pull the boot tight I actually tie the laces together instead of using the burton system. My friends who have button boots don't seem to have this problem so it might be the model or just my boots. Overall they are great boots.

"Good Boot, durabilty a dissapointment." 9/10/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Light, Fast Lacing
  • Cons:  durability,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   I like these boots... not love them, but like them. From day one I felt as if the 4 support rating was a bit generous. I always thought they were a bit more flexible than that. With that said, the fact that the upper lacing zone could in a way adjust the stiffness of the boot, maybe Burton really jacked em tight before testing their advertised stiffness. The good.... the lacing on this boot is super simple to use, and fast to adjust. I did have to tighten mid day, but that's something that I've grown used to. Liner is comfortable, and walking traction is acceptable. The bad.... within the first season the material wore thru where the ankle hinge meets the lower boot. This is part of Burton's Articulating Cuff feature.... it did give the boot a nice flex point, but the material there needs to be beefed up in future models. Inner boot packed out during the first season, but was brought back to life with some heat and a lil love. Overall I gave this boot 3 stars. For the price that TS has this boot now, it's well worth it. But I would be a bit more hesitant if they were at full retail, simple for the fact that they aren't nearly as durable as i had expected them to be.

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Light,
  • Cons:  Not Really That Light,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  11.5
  • Boot Size:  11

Experience:   Everybody has different feet, so find a company that makes boots that fit yours. Luckily for me, Burton boots are the only ones that don't give me problems. I have Hails and now these, which are pretty similar except with different lacing. They actually weigh pretty much the same, so I wouldn't say they're super light but good enough. If you like comfortable soft boots, add these to your collection.

"2009 Ozones" 3/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Speed Lacing, Small Profile,
  • Cons:  Arch support, Heel lift,
  • Fit:  stiff
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8
  • Boot Size:  7

Experience:   These boots run a bit big for my feet. As a result, I experience some arch pain when walking around with the boots and do suffer from heel lift. I definitely need to pick up separate sole with higher arch to make these boots work for me.. On the other had, the boots stay dry and warm. In addition, the speed lacing is great - makes it easy to put on and take off.

"Good Freestlye/Park Boot" 2/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Very Comfortable, Lightweight, Easy lacing
  • Cons:  Laces loosen up after riding, Packs out a lot,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  9.5

Experience:   The Ozones are a comfortable soft-flexing boot that's probably more-suited for the park than anything else. I use it for all-mountain riding with a Custom and Triads, and they work nicely, but I probably would have preferred something a little stiffer. I dig the Speedlaces, they're are a cinch to tighten, but they do get loose after 5 or 6 runs. You just need to give them a good tug and you're good to go again. Out of the box, you'll notice they're really light and very comfortable. They're the first boots I've owned where I didn't feel like I was walking like a duck with them on. The gel cushioning in the heel does a good job of absorbing some of that shock from flat landings. They also come with removable J-bars for people like me with narrow ankles. They packed out more than I expected after about 7 days of riding, though, and now it feels a little too loose. If I could go back, I'd get a half size smaller. If you're more park or freetyle oriented, the Ozones would be a good choice for you.

"Burton Ozones" 2/6/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Very Soft Flex, Awesome Design, Fast Lacings
  • Cons:  Toes get cold,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  8
  • Boot Size:  7

Experience:   So I have the AfterBange style, the ones that look like ski boots. I always get compliments on the way that look. In terms of performance, they have a very soft flex, so they are great for the park. I don't do that much deep powder or speeding down the mtn, so I don't need a stiff responsive boot. The lacing is also pretty good. Because these have 2 zones for the speed zone lacing, so you are not pulling on the lace to tighten the whole boot, instead its broken down into the lower and higher part of the boot. I have not had any issues with them loosening while I ride. The boots are comfortable and provide good heel support. My only issue with these are that I find my toes getting cold some days. And I'm not talking about riding in powder, I'm talking about lapping the park. I don't know if this is because I finally started wearing really tight boots that actually fit me. (I used to wear size 8 boots). But I just wear my thicker socks to offset this.

"2010 Ozones" 2/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Ozone
  • Pros:  Easy in and out, Quick lace system, Good support
  • Cons:  Have to retighten laces after every 5-6 runs,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I got my Ozones from a local shop when I traded in my Hails from last year. My old hails were 11, but for some reason this years I was able to stuff my foot into a sz 10 Ozones. The Ozone is a comfy boot that you will like to have on your feet for a full day of riding, it offers great support and the quick lace system is effortless. My only concern is that the laces are thin and I had to retighten after every 5-6 runs, but it was an easy adjustment. If you are looking for a lighter weight boot that offers great support take a good look at the Ozone you will not be disappointed.
