  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  Comfortable, fit well, quick lacing, responsive, Good support, warm,,
  • Cons:  Price,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   These are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever tried on. I could walk around in these for days. They are mid flex, rated a 7 but I would say that they are a 6. These have great support for mid flex boots, and have great response with your board. Great for hiking, because of comfort, and great for all types of riding. The only problem with these boots is that they are too expensive. Luckily I got them on sale, because 570 for a boot is just too much.

  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  Stiff and super supportive, Lacing system, light weight
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  8.5

Experience:   I wear a size 9 shoe but like my boots as snug as possible so I wear them 1/2 size smaller in this model. I also wore my last pair SL7s in 8.5 as well. I highly recommend this boot for anyone who wants a super responsive boot that provides plenty of support. I like to ride everywhere on the hill and these boots are great for every type of riding. Again they are stiff!

  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  Very Comfortable, No Slip Sole, Warm
  • Cons:  Wore Quickly, Cost,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I rode the Burton SLX for 1 full season. They are excellent for all riding styles and conditions. They are very comfy with no fit issues. No heel lift at all. A nice medium flex. The only issue I had was for the cost of theses boots they only lasted one season but it was over 50 days.

"The Rolls Royce Boots" 9/26/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  Very comfortable, Excellent support, Excellent response
  • Cons:  Expensive,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I bought this boot in 2010, I have used 50-60 days on the snow in the past 2 seasons. And it has worked very well for me. The boot is very comfortable on my feet: I can run in them, ride in them, and drive in them (though the latter is not recommended at all). In terms of support and response, they are perfect; it doesn't feel like my feet are stuck in a cast when I'm strapped in, yet I can control the direction and speed of my boards with precision. In 2010 (the one I owned), Burton affixed a piece of material over the vamp section of this boot to cover the front part of the laces. This would come in handy to prevent my board from cutting the laces when I rested the board on the boots. Yes the boots are cut up by now, but the laces are still in excellent shape (no fraying or anything). In terms of features, one the nice features is the Therm-ic prewiring so you can attach a specially made battery to the boot to heat up the liner (like an electric blanket for your feet); I tried the battery, but was not satisfied with the results; that's besides the fact that my feet were hot from riding most of the time already. The speed lacing is great to use; it's easy to tighten and doesn't slip much (so it doesn't slip a bit, but all you have to do is pull it tight again in the afternoon—yes I would be referring to riding for 8 hours or whatnot). For 2012, I bought the SLX boot again, still comfortable as hell, but have not tried them in riding. They moved the lacing up a bit and instead the flap to protect the lacing, they have switched to a hard tube over the lace at the vamp. They also removed Therm-ic in the liner. I would recommend this to anyone. I feel this is the epitome of boots, but it does come with the price.

"Great boot" 1/30/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  Built Well, durable, Comfortable , Great Boot
  • Cons:  Very stiff,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   These boots, although very expensive are worth every penny and more. Riding or Hiking these are the best boot on the market. Only draw back would have to be their stiffness. Rate at a 7 or 8 these are great for free riding/backcountry riding. If you are more of a park rat, I would recommend the Grails. Burton boots on average are more expesive then the rest, but they really put the time in to build a quality product.

"Unbelievable comfort" 4/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton SLX
  • Pros:  The most comfortable boot I've ever worn, Great heel hold,
  • Cons:  Questionable styling, Price,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  10
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I tried these in Chamonix recently. For me it was a toss up between this and the Ion. Both felt very similar on, the SLX had a slightly stiffer tongue and achieved the same heel hold even without the J bars as the Ion did with them. In the end the price and the styling put me off this boot and I bought the Ion but this was without doubt the most comfortable boot that I've ever tried. If Burton boots fit your feet shape, you HAVE to try this boot.
