Burton boards with the Channel System do not ship with Retro Disks or hardware. You will need to call Burton for a free set at (800) 881-3138.

Sierra Says: One of Burton's most recognizable models, the Supermodel has been a favorite among freeriders for years. This board has a twin flex, slightly tapered shape, fast base, and fairly aggressive feel. The design of the Supermodel is ideal for an experienced rider that loves riding groomed runs and off-trail. Although this board isn't ideal for park riding, the Supermodel is not afraid to express its freestyle exuberance in the backcountry.

Burton Says: Our most versatile snow surfer, the Supermodel begs for early morning blower, and keeps charging long after the junk send the kooks in for wings and wine coolers. The slightly tapered shape adds buoyancy and effortless edge control in any condition while the ultra lubricated base is like cooking with jet fuel. The Channel's unlimited adjustability makes it easy to set your stance back in the morning then center it up after lunch.

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Versatile,

Experience:   Had a hand me down 1999 supermodel that I rode for several years and loved that was stolen last winter. I rode a few other boards but went with a new supermodel. Rides better than the old one and is an all around great board especially for beginners. It can ride just about anything any day.

"Great Board" 5/31/2010

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Smooth ride, Consistent and predictable ride,
  • Cons:  Took a little to break it in,

Experience:   Tried this board out for a few days and really liked it. Would highly recommend it for someone who doesn't want to pay top dollar but wants something quality. The supermodel really out-performed what I expected. Was a little stiff at first and took some time to break in. Longer than other boards I've owned.

"09 Supermodel" 3/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  fast sintered base, classy yet playful graphics,
  • Cons:  top sheet scratches,

Experience:   I picked up a 2009 burton supermodel second at the beginning of the season and had around 10 full days on it. I took this board all over the mountain without any problems. Steeps, groomers, mashed potatoes, and the little pow we had (3-4 inches) were no problem on this moderate flex board. The slight set back stance and the 10mm nose taper were a perfect fit for me since I tend to ride more groomers than I do free ride. And although this board is set back, riding switch is not all that bad after a few runs. I was able to step up my riding this season with the baby, moving directly from rentals to the supermodel.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Chop,Crud,Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Powder
  • Pros:  Holds edge really well , Stiff and stable ride , Responsive on Dynamic turns
  • Cons:  Goofy feels awkward (directional duhhh), Top sheet will scratch,

Experience:   This is my first board and it is definitely the board to get if you are an aspiring free rider like myself and in that intermediate level. A good stiff and stable board that will hold edge really well despite the conditions on the trail and it will save you a couple of times. Overall, Good for speed and turns, and you will be surprised at the Michael Jackson-esque leans you will pull off Toeside. Free Ride!

Experience:   Great board on good or bad runs. Does well on ice (I'm from PA so this is important). It's fast and responsive, can handle just about any speed and holds it edge really well. Overall great board.

"08 Burton Supermodel" 2/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Chop,Crud,Groomers,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Fast, responsive, great in pow, lightweight, , easy carving, smooth riding,

Experience:   I used the 08 supermodel a few seasons and it really changed snowboarding for me. Before this i was on a kids snowboard, and this gave me a comfortable jump to a more advanced snowboard than i was used to, rather than jumping straight to a custom x or T6. Although there isn't much taper, it still is a bit noticable in deep snow and in backcountry bowls. I loved using this in vail and the speed and carving on this deck is unbelievable. Altogether, this is a great mid-stiff set up for the intermediate to expert freerider.

"Great All Around Board... Eats Powder wiith Ease" 1/23/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Supermodel
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  Fast, Eats Powder with Ease,
  • Cons:  Top Sheet is Soft - Scratches,

Experience:   This board is awesome. If there's ANY powder on the mountain, this board floats over it like butter. Very little work to manuever and as fast as you want to be. Looks great. And while any board is vulnerable on the top sheet, this one seemed to scratch and ding fast than others. EST system is slick and easy and a great ride.
