"Amazing Bag" 9/19/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Lots of space, Durable Material,
  • Cons:  No boot pocket,

Experience:   I owned a 2009 wheelie gig that I took on two trips to Tahoe and CO. I ended up giving that one to my brother, and bought the 2010 wheelie gig for another trip back to CO. This bag is huge. With the bindings unscrewed, I was able to fit two boards, two sets of bindings, and a pair of boots, along with a bunch of clothes. The wheels really help when the bag is stuffed full. The removable shoulder strap is also pretty nice. When the airlines want the strap removed or help down, you can just take it off and throw it into the outside pocket, then take it back out after you've landed. I had a cheaper burton bag (forget the model) before the wheelie gigs, and the gig's definitely felt much more durable. The other one ripped on a trip to CO (not sure if it was the bag, or the flight crew's fault). The bag also comes in a bunch of distinct colorways, which makes it easy to tell your back apart from all the plain black ones. The only downside I have with this bag is that it doesn't have a separate boot pocket. Overall, I highly recommend this bag to anyone traveling.

"Only board bag you'll ever need" 9/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Massive capacity, Durable,

Experience:   I have the 166 Wheelie Gig from 05/06 and it's still going strong. This thing is pretty much bombproof and it can fit all my gear and clothes for a week. You can also fit multiple boards if you take off the bindings and stack the boards on top of each other. The outside pocket comes in handy when you have smaller stuff you want to keep separate. As I mentioned earlier, this thing can take a beating and then some. Mine still looks almost brand new after 5 years of being man-handled at airports. Awesome bag!

"Good board bag w/ wheels" 3/9/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Wheels to help move bag, Can fit multiple boards, Good size, good fabric, nice center pocket
  • Cons:  A bit heavy,

Experience:   I would say, this is my most functional board bag. I really like having the wheels to help carry around the board. If you disconnect the bindings, you can put in 3-4 boards inside this bag, easy. Otherwise, I think 2 boards w/ bindings attached is the max. It does get a bit heavy in lifting and moving it around, but functionality wise, it works. I also really like the big center pocket it has, so that I can dump in tools, and other cleaning materials for the board. I have little to no complaints on this bag and it has been durable, protects the boards well, and has had no issues when used for travel. Try to get a distinct colored one, so that it doesn't get confused while being transported for travel. Oh yeah, one more complaint is the crossing of the shoulder strap is not the best, I'd disconnect it if you don't need the shoulder strap.

"Boot pockets would perfect this bag" 3/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Durable, Smooth wheels, Shoulder straps
  • Cons:  No pockets for boots,

Experience:   I have Dakine's tour bag too because I loved its boot pockets outside with zipper, but I got this too as I can't carry this on shoulder all the time. Dakine does have a wheelie version with boot pockets but it has no shoulder strap - very bad move, even wheelie can't go without a shoulder for bumpy/snowy paths or stairs!! So I went for Burton wheelie when it was on sale at end of winter. I like the frong pocket and straps to keep board(s) in place inside.

"Great travel board bag, but beware of the zippers" 2/6/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Roomy , Strong fabric, Great wheels
  • Cons:  Zippers aren't very strong,

Experience:   Overall I tlike the wheelie gig bag, and I would have given it 4 stars if I didn't break a zipper off during my first trip. Its roomy, has tons of space for all of your gear for the trip, has great construction otherwise, and is really easy to wheel. I may have simply gotten a bag zipper, but just be careful while you are closing it up and don't force it. I would still recommend the bag despite this small issue.

"Fully Loaded Burton Board Bag" 1/1/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton Wheelie Gig Snowboard Bag
  • Pros:  Heavy Duty Zippers, Skateboard Wheels, Bullet Proof Fabric
  • Cons:  slightley small storage compartment,

Experience:   Fully loaded Burton board bag build for travel or weekend rippin'. Padded main compartment along with bullet-proof shell material protects the board for air travel. Heavy-duty zippers will hold up in all conditions. Skateboard wheel system is awesome!!! Bag rolls super easy & if by some chance anything goes wrong with one of the wheels, head to local skate shop for parts & u r rollings again. Bag holds mounted board, boots, helmet & various smaller stuff in storage compartment. Bag can hold 2 unmounted (no bindings) boards.
