Burton boards with the Channel System do not ship with Retro Disks or hardware. You will need to call Burton for a free set at (800) 881-3138.

Sierra Says: The X8 is a technical snowboard designed for the serious park rider. With a list of features longer than any park board on the market, the X8 reigns at the top of the freestyle food chain. The 2010 model still has the mid-soft flex, fast sintered base, and Park Fly III Core, but now comes equipped with the V-Rocker as well. We recommend this one for the established park guy that is looking for cutting-edge freestyle performance.

Burton Says: We've all had them. Dreams where you're hitting the perfect jump. Time slows down as you leave the lip, you keep spinning, drop the shoulder, spin some more, and always stomp it. Until we develop a way to guarantee these wet dreams every night, we offer the X8. Lighter, faster, and more capable than ever before, this year it gives Jedi's like Tadashi Fuse the superhuman foot control, press-ability, and pop of V-Rocker.

  • Name: Burton X8
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Helped me progress my park riding, Perfect flex for my weigth (145lbs),
  • Cons:  this field should not be required,

Experience:   I test rode this board at sugar bowl during bruizzapalooza and fell in love with it instantly. This board has PERFECT amount of flex for me. (145lbs). The day I rode this board in the park my comfort level on the kickers grew immensely. Approaching the jump the board was very stable, yet when olly-ing and landing there was a soft transition...can't wait to get back out on the snow this year. My avatar pic is from the day testing out the x8. hit me up in private chat if you have any questions.

  • Name: Burton X8
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Halfpipe,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Lightweight, buttery, soft, forgiving, playful, easy to carve, great for switch riding, jumps, fast, great for spins, jibbing

Experience:   I first used this board at a weekend in Breck CO and was immediately impressed. First runs of the day (dont know why) i hiked it up Lake chutes (Double Black EX) and was surprised for how stable the board was in deep and steep snow. It was very fast whether on a trail or approaching a jump, and stomps landings as if it is nothing. I overjump landings sometimes on this, but there is no problem for the board to stomp the landing. On easy groomed runs it is very buttery and playful (very glad they added V-roc this year) and this thing can handle rails very easily. This is easily the best park board I have ever ridden, and since using this, my confidence has grown in the park significantly.

  • Name: Burton X8
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Jumps
  • Pros:  Soft Flex, Lands jumps easily,
  • Cons:  not great for shredding,

Experience:   Solid and fast board, only two boards i have to compare to flex wise are the custom v-rocker and burton custom x, this board is by far the softest in comparison which is a great thing if used for park riding, which was my main reason for purchasing this board. landings are soft especially paired with my burton exile est bindings. the board isn't great for all-mountain riding but it's no slouch either, if u don't mind a little vibration than this board can pretty much do it all, have yet to try boxes and rails, so i can't comment on that. ollies are easy to do compared to my custom v-rocker, i don't know what else to say, board looks great, feels great, don't hesitate to buy.

  • Pros:  solid stable board, flexible, poppy
  • Cons:  not the best design Burton has come up with,

Experience:   This board is exactly what i've been looking for. i've had my eyes on this board since it came out, but couldnt get myself to pay $650 for a park board until that one lucky day i saw it for 70% off here at Sierra. This board is basically an upgrade from the hero. just as flexy, but more playful and poppy. i also noticed it being a bit more stable than the hero. the n20 WFO base is fast, and the board holds an edge very well. no complaints on this one.

  • Pros:  V rocker!, ICS, Sick looking topsheet
  • Cons:  plane jane base, spendy at full price, last year made!

Experience:   I picked this board up as my first V rocker and it's a sick board all the way around. When the ICS system is used with some EST bindings such as a pair of Malavita's... Enjoy a sweet combo! Butter it up, or jib around. Have all kinds of fun on the X8!

  • Pros:  poppy and light, responsive, stable for landings
  • Cons:  need wider sizes,

Experience:   i love this board, great for freestyle riding all around and in the park. lots of fun, holds edge, fast base and solid carving when cruising. decent for buttering; the v-rocker in 2010 must improve that from the cambered '09. slightly soft for killer speeds but no slouch, so-so in chop (just dont go crazy), great on groomers, dont know about pow (northeast). overall a great board to mix park, jumps, and cruising

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Burton X8
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Rocks Freestyle, Rocks the Park, Awesome for running groomed runs, butters nice
  • Cons:  Not a powder board (but do you expect it to be?), So awesome you may get beat up and robbed, Thats it

Experience:   Ok so I just bought this board (along with some 09' est triads) and absolutely love it! I am 190lbs, 62, with size 10.5 boots, and I just got the 157 sized board. This board is awesome for freestyle, handles in the park like a dream and butters sooo nice. Perfect amount of flex you get some real nice pop off of jumps There was a huge dump of snow the when I went so tons of powder. It didn't do great in the powder, but then I really wasn't expecting it too. It wasn't horrible but I certainly wasn't steering for the pow, like I would have been if I was on a custom or something. I think you have to keep in mind with this board what it is your buying, if your looking for something that absolutely rocks the park/freestyle plus awesome on the mountain as a whole, then not so great in the powder then this is the board for you. I honestly don't know of any boards that rock like this board does freestyle plus still rocks in powder. Also at high speeds it was fine, took me a bit to get used to it at speed but soon I was flying down the mountain to catch up with my speedy skier buddies with no problems at all. Oh and the set up with the est triad bindings is unbelievable

  • Pros:  Responsive, So much pop,
  • Cons:  stiff,

Experience:   Absolutely the most responsive setup I've ever been on. All I had to do with think about turning and it felt like the board could read my mind. Its got a fantastic amount of pop for the park and with the quick center channel, its easy to slide the bindings back for some powder runs.

Experience:   Super buttery and fun high end board. Fast base, good pop and amazing on rails and to dork around on. I really loved this board, it felt pretty similar to the custom v-rock but with a little more butteriness and a little less pop.
