  • Name: Burton XIII Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  Exceptionally responsive, Very comfortable, supportive liner (IMPRINT 4), Outlandish, timeless style
  • Cons:  Outer sole will start to peel at toe, Brass lace hooks can get annoying, EXTREMELY expensive
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   I'm only writing this review because retailers will still stock these boots-- they were so expensive that nobody could afford them... For $600 taxes in, you'd get arguably Burton's best snowboard soft boot up to that year. Attractive genuine brown leather put together with good workmanship: the stitching of the thick leather shell is very good. The leather wraps a very stiff frame that uses a sliding upper and lower shell to prevent folding at the ankle when flexing forward; this was new tech at the time. The liner is Burton's top-of-the-line Imprint 4 (now superceded by Imprint 5) with J-bar ankle supports, comfortable cushioning, antimicrobial Outlast insole, and Sock-Lock narrow heel channel. I recommend switching insole to a softer high quality ergonomic one, but the Outlast insole that's included is very low profile in case the boot is a tight fit. The boot lace hooks are solid brass which, while stylish and indestructible, can get annoying when you tighten down the binding and press the hooks against your ankle, you may feel the hooks stabbing you by the end of the day. The outer sole near the toe can peel from the boot slightly if you use toe strap bindings;. not a big issue and does not let in water. The original boot laces are fragile and can slip-- throw them away. The boot is STIFF and slightly undersized. Break-in will take AT LEAST a month of riding, it will get only marginally softer but the fit will loosen up to proper size. The feedback with the snowboard is excellent with these boots, so fine adjustments in your riding technique, posture, and stance will reflect very well through the board. Due to stiffness and response, this boot is for intermediate (3/5) to expert (5/5) riders. During the mild season with mushy snow, the boots let in some water, although that's pretty normal for all boots in watery slush. Being made of genuine leather, it will show its wear easily over time. Send to a leather specialist for restoration if you are prissy about it.

  • Name: Burton XIII Snowboard Boots
  • Pros:  super comfortable , snug tight fit,
  • Cons:  laces snapped on fourth day using them, price?,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  stiff
  • Shoe Size:  11.5

Experience:   Really well made boot, super comfortable great fit. Only con would be that the laces snapped on my fourth day of using them. Pretty pricey if you dont get them on sale, great boot stiff snug tight fit best boot I have ever used.
