"Amazing urban vid parts" 9/13/2012
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  old school skate inspired tricks, creative urban tricks,
  • Cons:  gnarly falls/hits,

Experience:   I finally watched D.O.A. and was really impressed by the street/urban riding parts. Some of the tricks, where the riders were either in only 1 binding or completely not buckled in, blew my mind. Most of these were in the earlier parts of the film. I really liked the movie. Definitely not a production on the scale of Brainfarm, but amazing riding and tricks. There were some pretty bad falls throughout the movie that made me cringe, but overall a sweet dvd. Also, it was awesome to see Truckee, CA represented.

"KENNY CHIMPS!" 1/3/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Very creative, Get to know the riders a little, The extras are awesome
  • Cons:  Some of the extras are wtf., Some riders didn't have very good parts, Kind of short.

Experience:   The DVD in general was a pretty good watch, I would recommend it for sure but after a couple of riders it just starts to get kind of bland. Scotty Stevens (attcha boi ;D) freaking ripped it apart though, and it slowly got worse until I was like, wtf is this? and then Mike Rav brought some life back to it... The female riders weren't that great. At all. Danger P was the only good one, and she's great. But it has a fun nature to the video and I in general liked it. Go Capita! :)

"Really enjoyed it!" 1/3/2012
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Lots of rails., Capita team., Music.

Experience:   I thought this movie was great. Awesome riders. Awesome Tricks. Awesome spots. The tricks in this movie were really creative than just being bangers, I really like that. My favorite type of snowboard movies are one that actually make me want to go snowboarding, which defenders of awesome did. 4/5.

"Creative" 8/22/2013

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Creative, Cool extras,
  • Cons:  To short,

Experience:   Watched this the other day at my buddies house. It was a decent film. I did really enjoy the creativeness to the film. It could have been longer but it is still a pretty cool film to watch. The behind the scenes stuff was cool unlike alot of films where they have some boring extras that nobody cares about. Only pick this video up if you can get it at a reasonable price.

"Scotty Stevens, Jibs, Street, and Park" 5/3/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Scott Stevens, Dan Brisse,
  • Cons:  No Big Mtn Powder, if that's what you're into,

Experience:   I don't own the DVD, but do own the movie via iTunes download. BTW, it's now available to stream in full on Hulu. It has good riding. Stevens kills it with his skate style and creativity on street and park features. Brisse shows he's f'n fearless. Monsterous gaps and slams. Jess proves she can hang with the boys. It's mostly a park, jib, and street video. Not much big mountain powder riding that I can remember. Brisse hucks some big jumps in the back country, but this isn't like A of F or Deeper. It met my expectations.

"less than meets the eye" 3/16/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  great camera and angle footage , brisseburger, scott stevens, danger pony, full of rails, urban, gaping & some backcountry
  • Cons:  dvd was under 40 mins , music soundtrack was bland,

Experience:   I think this film wasted the potential to add more footage instead of quick little interviews in between the riders segment, adding capita plugs when we already know its a Capita film is unnecessary a big turn off makes you want to stop watching.I anticipated this movie to have some really good music throughout but didn't live up to the hype of it's trailer, Brisse,Stevens,Kimura made it worth watching it to the end.If you love the style of urban /street snowboarding this will get your attention.

"Not My Thing" 3/5/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Scott Stevens, Phil Jacques,
  • Cons:  Repetative, Choppy, Short

Experience:   This 35 minute runtime film was pretty disappointing. With crap interviews with the riders that focused around what nicknames they have had. By focused i mean that's all they said, their freaking nickname, not really profound. The filming was choppy and had no flow at all. Most of the shots were repeated and it just was boring after a while. Scott Stevens did start the movie off right with some mind blowing jibs and urban riding. Everyone pretty much blurred together after that besides jacques. Im sure that's why it is half price also. It was so short too it just left me feeling like it wasnt money well spent. And defenders of awesome is a stupid name and didnt tie into the film. That team is sick it is just not my type of film. Overall, cool content just crappy production, editing and shots. That's my opinion dont waste time or money.

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Creative, Fun, Behind the scenes with the riders
  • Cons:  Some parts aren't great,

Experience:   I bought this video from a somewhat local shop just because of Scott Stevens and his part did not disappoint. Kimura and Brisse also did not disappoint. Bottom line is the movie is well worth $19.95

"Mediocre at best" 1/14/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  scott stevens,
  • Cons:  everything else,

Experience:   this movie is pretty lame. it looks like some poor kids stole a camera and went around shooting some pretty cool snowboarding and the awful lifestyles these snowboarders live. i don't need to see the car you live out of. If it wasn't for scott stevens' part and his parts in the outtakes, this dvd would be worthless.

"Letdown" 12/27/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2012 Capita Defender Of Awesome Snowboard DVD
  • Pros:  Some unique shots,
  • Cons:  Lacks a wow factor,

Experience:   This video is 36 mins long. It is mostly urban riding with some backcountry on Dustin Cravins part. Some things that bugged me was there were only a few tricks that really had a wow factor. The editing is just a bunch of shots put together with music. The music is pretty good, lots of jeff the brotherhood. It is set up so that it features a rider then moves on to the next so you always know who is riding but doesn't show multiple riders hiting one feature such as in the b Its an okay film but i prefered art of flight.
