A mid-wide version of its Indoor and Outdoor counterparts, the MID LIFE Artist series provides a true twin freestyle experience with an overall wider frame, slightly deeper sidecut, more pronounced shoulders, and distinctive tip and tail shapes. TJ Schneider rides these boards every day and the graphics for 2007 celebrate artists that have inspired his art, snowboarding, tattoos, and life.

"I love art. It fills my world. I have bookshelves filled with pages by artists, some living, some dead. Some I respect, some I truly love. This year I wanted to make a board that paid respect to some of my favorites. Artists who have filled my life with images that I had only seen in dreams... More ?

  • Name: Capita Mid Life Artist
  • Pros:  I'm about 5'7, 150lbs, size 9.5 boots. Instead of pros and cons I'll break it down according to riding terrain. Park/Pipe: This board was made for Parks and Pipes. Perfect sidecut, width, and flex for lapping the park all day. It has great pop for boosting off kickers, hips, or whatever you like to fly off of. It also has the right width (for my boot size) for stability during bigger landings (my limit is about 50ft) without losing the maneuverability you get with a wider plank of a board. In the Pipe, this board has no problems holding an edge at speed on the pipe walls.
  • Cons:  Jib/Street: Although not ideal for a street board, it is very good for resort jibbing. The flex may feel a bit stiff at first for some but I have no problem buttering or pressing this board. It's not the sort of board you can totally overpower (IE; rome artifact) but not too stiff where it'd feel strange on jibs. Bottom line, if you like to jib but need the extra stability & maneuverability for jumps and higher speeds than this is the board for you. If you'd rather jib and hit a few smaller jumps (20-30ft) than a better board would probably be the Stairmaster if you want to ride a Capita.

Experience:   All Mountain/Freeride: I'm mainly a park rat, but I'm no stranger to steeps and terrain outside of the park. This is great board if you're like me and like to mix it up on occasion. This board holds up very well at high speed (point it!) and the sidecut is solid for railing in and out of turns. Powder: Set your bindings back a bit and it has enough width to stay afloat through the deep stuff. Not ideal (it is a park board after all) but you won't be struggling. Skill Level: This board is aimed at intermediate to advanced riders. Although it's not so aggressive to the point where you feel you must consciously "control the board", don't expect a floppy noodle or a lazy mellow ride. It's very lively and snappy with an all around "park flex." Very good for cruising runs, lapping the whole park, and the occasional steep and pow day.

  • Name: Capita Mid Life Artist
  • Pros:  What else can be said, this is TJs board so you know it is legit. This board is a true twin but unlike most it is a little wider so it better fits a large variety of riders. Also it has a centered stance and an awesome flex, this board kills it all over the mountain.
  • Cons:  The only con I have found is the graphics, they look a little childish for me but the board itself is perfect.

Experience:   This board is amazing for a more technical rider who wants to shred all over the mountain and go huge like TJ
