Sierra Says: Is reverse camber not for you, but you still like to ride park and jib with the rest of us? Try the Stairmaster, a soft flexing freestyle snowboard with Camber! Camber makes this board stiffer and more stable than boards like the Horrorscope. This is the perfect construction for guys who jump, ride pipe, jib and still want to beat their buddies in a race.

Capita Says: The Stairmaster originated as a board discounted out of the box that?s smaller, wider, softer, and designed for maneuverability around the park. The ride-ability of this series has become legendary in relation to the price tag, and the overwhelming demand for these boards continues after being named the #4 Men?s Freestyle board in the world under $400 while beating every other board in the Top 10 on price.

Positive Camber: The traditional way a snowboard is made. They turn faster and pop harder than FK boards.

Flex rating: 4, which is the master in the terrain park, but is not afraid to venture all over the rest of the mountain.

Twin Shape: True Twin snowboards go forward and backward equally.

WDT Engineered Jib Core: Wood and Composite core that is designed to be extra strong. Bottom Line: No broken boards!

Pre-Cured 420 Fiberglass Configuration

Extruded Base- Easy base to maintain and repair if rocks or rails damage it.

Screened ABS Bomb Proof Sidewalls: Prevents damage from rails, boxes and your ex GF.

4x2 Inserts: Standard fit for all your stance locations and accepts every brand binding.

"2011 Stairmaster 159" 11/9/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Capita Stairmaster Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Camber, Poppy, Good Flex
  • Cons:  SHARP Edges!,

Experience:   I bought this board a few weeks ago and had been dying to ride it. Last Sunday I did! I was really impressed with the board and though that it had great flex, was awesomely priced, and had great pop. I used to ride a 2010 Skatebanana and I couldnt have been happier that I switched. Buttering and pressing out tricks feels a lot better than it did with my banana. I would recommend this board to anyone.

How durable is it? would it be good for jumps to?

Shock
Yes, I think it would. I hit a 40 footer at bittersweet and it was awesome. I just did a nosegrab, but it was still good.

AndrewCoxx
ok well probably the last 152w board sold out on zumiez, so now i have to buy on ebay, is that wise?

"11' Stairmaster 156" 8/16/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Capita Stairmaster Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Jumps
  • Pros:  Lots of pop, very directional, easy to bomb hills
  • Cons:  edges come SHARP,

Experience:   I picked up my 11' stairmaster 156 pre season of 11 and opening day i was very impressed on how much better it was than my forum youngblood i had the previous season. This board has a crazy amount of pop, and is flexible enough to butter a rail but stiff enough to hit any size jumps. In my opinion, i feel safer riding a original camber board than a reverse camber(FK), especially on jumps. When you get this board brand new, the steel edges come quite sharp so if you are a park rider, i'd advise you to detune them before hitting any rails because you will catch an edge. Not really sure how it is in the pipe yet. but i would highly recommend this board for intermediate to expert riders.

"great board" 6/30/2011

  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Park,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  edge hold, flex, versatility
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   this board slays the whole mountain. i normally use it in the park but i have taken it on the rest of the mountain too. it does great on the groomers and i even took it on a few moguls once. it is very responsive and stable. i control the board, the board doesnt control me. i can bomb hills and trust this board to be completely stable. i think the flex on this board is perfect. it is soft enough to jib and butter and is still stiff enough to take off the kickers. i have also never had a problem with edge hold with this board, even here on the east coast. i would recommend this board for sure.

  • Pros:  Jib friendly, twip tip, rides anything

Experience:   this board came with pretty sharp edges so i got mine detuned. i love this board. super buttery, easy to press, sick pop, rides anything. i took it out in mid-thigh deep pow and it still slayed despite it being gear more towards rails and park. i was stomping 3's on 40 foot step downs with no problems. get 'em wile they are hot!

  • Name: Capita Stairmaster Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Awesome flex for a board that isnt even a v rocker, Remains stable at high speeds,
  • Cons:  Really sharp edges when brand new,

Experience:   I have demo'd many boards for my age. I love this board. I was actually surprised on how flexible this board was, and it doesnt even have a v-rocker! I found that this board had really sharp edges when it was brand new, which if your not into rails and boxes, not a big deal, but if you are, the edges can be too sharp, making you catch on the slightest thing. Other than that, this board is good at high speeds and has perfect flex for those who aren't that big into the park side of snowboarding.

"Very nice board for an up and comer" 2/13/2011

  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park
  • Pros:  Flexible, Stable,
  • Cons:  Overly sharp edges,

Experience:   I got the Capita Stairmaster 144 for my 9yr old as his second board. Out of the box the edges were razor sharp up to and past the contact points. After initial frustration we dutuned them a bit and now he is ripping it up and loving his new board. He is now attempting black diamonds and hitting jumps he was on his old Burton Chopper...and just having a great time.

  • Pros:  solid deck,

Experience:   this is the kill all deck if you are wanting to learn new tricks. the ride is very solid and is fairly easy to carve with. the flex on this thing isnt the softest but it will help you learn how to kind of butter if you press it hard enough. i would give it a 5-6 out of 10 on stiffness. overall this a solid deck to start your progression.

Sandvich
Hey man, I'm 5'10 165lbs and I'm trying to decide whether to go for the 159 or something shorter. I am addicted to speed and am just trying to break into the park a bit. Love jumps. Any advice on how this board might treat you if it were a bit longer and you were trying my style? Would you still choose this board? Thanks for your time :D

  • Pros:  funny, stable at high speed, cheap
  • Cons:  graphic,

Experience:   The 2011 Stairmaster is the greatest board i ever had. I bought a Horrorscope at the start of the season, my mistake. Too soft, ride like a noodles at high speed and realy don't like the FK. So I sold it and I bought a Stairmaster, my best investment. I ride this board everywhere, off trails, powder, groom and park and still going nice. At high speed, you will never have problem for the stability. Take the good length, I'm 1m70 and weight 145 pounds and I took the 148cm
