"Great park deck" 7/6/2011

  • Pros:  great for pressing, great lift in pow, fast, base. that dosent need to be waxed
  • Cons:  topsheet isnt durbale,

Experience:   I have the 010 ultrafear. And I love it,being a beefed up horroscope I was super stoked when I first rode it. soft fk board with good graphics. You can ride park all day with it, then when you have a powder day you can ride pow easy. Because of the flat kick the nose and tail are raised so it is already floaty. This board was surprisngly very noodly, being a stiffer horroscope i thought it would be stiffer than it is, but you get used to it after a while. you can ride this anywhere, but in the pipe it does get kinda sketchy, on a east coast halfpipe where it is all ice anyway. on jumps this thing kills it and if you land in the backseat it may take a few times to get used to the fk off bigger jumps. I would deff. recomend this board to someone who wants a softer flexing park deck, that can kill it anywhere.

  • Name: Capita Ultrafear FK Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Natural Feel, Light weight, Fun Graphics
  • Cons:  Top sheet easily damaged,

Experience:   This was my first venture into the reverse camber world and I was nervous that I was going to have a hard time feeling stable and making hard turns. Luckily for me this thing felt perfectly natural the first run on it. I purchased this board right before a trip to steamboat and decided to bring it and test it there. I thought it might be too short for out there. Again I was happily proven wrong by the board. Our first day of riding was in a half to a foot of powder. This board was amazing. I floated easily through the pow. During the course of the trip I got to ride through trees and on many other conditions. I found that the board was great at almost every situation I threw at it. So here is where it wasn't as nice as a cambered board. I felt less stable when trying to ride flat on cat tracks. This was greatly exaggerated when riding switch. I felt it while riding normal but it wasn't a problem. The other time it wasn't amazing was on very steep runs that were icy or very hard pack. Overall this is a great all around board.

  • Name: Capita Ultrafear FK Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great Flex, Buttery , Poppy
  • Cons:  Little Shakey at High Speeds,

Experience:   Today my friend let me borrow this board and i was speechless. Capita never ceases to amaze me. Very poopy and great flex on both ends but a little stiff in between but not to stiff. Super light and it makes riding so much fun. You can take this thing on anything you want in the park and it performs great. At high speeds it gets a little shakey but no worries. The top sheet on his board is beat up so i am think it scratches pretty easily. Other than that great buy.

  • Name: Capita Ultrafear FK Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Bulletproof Base, Gnarly Flex, Ollie power like a madman
  • Cons:  Topsheet, Can't Handle High Speeds, Factory edge way to sharp

Experience:   I LOVE this board. I've had a chance to demo many boards but none compare to this bad boy. I've chunked this thing on rocks, trees, boxes, rails, ect.. But the base holds strong with only minor scratches. The topsheet however is another story. You can practically rub it off. Badass graphic but gets haggard quick. Not a big deal to me. Press this board into a U and hold it all the way down with ease. And still ollie over slow signs and yardsale skiiers. Can deffinently handle the bigger booters. Little bit of washout but can be handled. Never had more fun droppin pillow lines than on the ultrafear. You can slay the whole mountian or lap the park. Whichever you prefer. Just make sure you file your edges cuz i got some nice gashes on my hand just from carrying it. In the end my suggestion is if your considering this board. Buy it. Trust me. She won't do ya wrong.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Capita Ultrafear FK Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Light weight, Durable as hell , Shreds Powder
  • Cons:  Kinda loose in slushy conditions,

Experience:   This review is the 2010 early release 155 length. Setup- Union force bindings, burton boxer boots Location- East Coast Riding style- Mostly park, powder when I can find it. Stats- 62 180 lbs Flex- Soft torsionally which gives it a super-quick edge to edge response and control when going slow and approaching rails. Softer in the tip and tail, and stiffer between the bindings. Superfun for buttering. Kinda washes out when landing bigger jumps on the tail though. On rails, the camber locks into boardslides and makes pivoting so effortless. Turning- Very surfy, yet stable confidence-inspiring feel. Engages and holds turns well, likes short radius turns, not great for holding carves. So confidence-inspiring, I dislocated my shoulder the first day I had it. Dampness- Medium dampening, not as much as a smokin or one of those more damp rides, I'm guessing it's a tradeoff for the featherlight weight. Pop- Nice pop, not like a cambered board but enough to boost off jumps+ ollie onto rails with ease. Durability- Rode it 50+ days and it's still lively as hell, once smashed the nose into a submerged log riding pow, and yea, thanks to the reinforced edges, came out unscathed. It can take a BEATING!! Overall- This thing is featherlight and so much fun. It was a little softer than I was expecting, so try it before you buy. It has a lively, fun feel that will open your imagination of what is possible on the mountain. You get on it and feel like you can charge anything. I highly recommend. Slays powder. In case you don't know, Union bindings and Capita boards are like pizza and beer.
