Sierra Says: The BDR (?Bender Done Right?) is a new innovation from DC this year and offers their perception on the reverse-camber trend going on in snowboarding nowadays. It is designed with flat-camber between your feet and ?anti-camber? technology toward the nose and tail of your board. This softens the middle section of the board while keeping the nose and tail stiff, so you can effortlessly spin and butter on boxes and rails with no hang-ups, float through the backcountry without nose-diving as easily and above all maintain exceptional carving ability on the hard-packed snow. This true twin board is not only a jib/park board even though that is where it excels most, but it can still thr... More ?

"(BDRB) Bender Done Right B*tches!!!" 1/26/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DC BDR
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Super fast, Lightweight/durable, Perfect amount of flex for presses and butters!!!
  • Cons:  NONE.,

Experience:   I used to ride a 2008 Forum Eddie Wall 154 and finally decided to try an anti-camber board. After reading review after review on DC boards and checking out other reversed camber sticks (LibTech, K2, Burton, etc.), I decided to go with the DC BDR 153. Overall, this board has amazing response and sick maneuverability. The tip and tail weight are reduced and feel like they have virtually no spin weight - needless to say spinning is like cake on this board. It definitely took a few runs to get used to the anti-camber outside the bindings, ollies and poppin around the trails took an extra run to get used to but needless to say, it's got some good pop to it regardless of the anti-camber. Locking onto boxes and rails were very different compared to a regular cambered deck but I was used to it by the end of the day. This board definitely has more versatility for freestyle/park riding and all-mountain ripping. Presses and butters are thrown down with ease and is smooth as MJ from the freethrow line. The board is also super stable at high speeds - I was surprised it didn't feel like a piece of cardboard under my feet when going super fast. I've read numerour reviews of rockered boards feeling like a wet noodle at mach 10, this one didn't, A+ DC!!! And best for last, the BDR board was meant to rip some mean deep powder. When floating around with this board, the nose seems to naturally lift out of the snow - so no more nose dives when your tits-deep in chowder. It's effortless to make turns and carve through the deep white. If your thinking about it, STOP AND JUST BUY IT.

Hey I am pickin this board up for next winter... I am 5'11 and 155lbs... do you think I should go with the 159 or 156...I want the 156 but I love the black board in 159 haha

jonnyblaze411
I'm 5'5", about 155 lbs. and the 153 is perfect for me. I could possibly even drop to a 152 if possible. But if you like to get technical and jib/spin like a mo-fo, I'd go with the 156. If you like to cruise in the pow or mostly all-mountain style, hit up the 159. Either way, it's a win-win situation.

"Loving this board so far" 1/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DC BDR
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Powder,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  fast base, easy turns,
  • Cons:  none so far,

Experience:   Just used this board for the 1st time up in Mammoth over New Years... All I have to say is that it improved my riding significantly. I'm a relative beginner (have boarded 8-10 times before) and I love this board, especially when combined with Burton Cartels. It carves beautifully on groomers and goes through powder effortlessly. You can do spins quickly and kick out the tail very easily. Very stable at high speeds. It's a board that I can grow into. FYI, I'm 5'11, 150 lbs and I got the 159 cm.

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DC BDR
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Rails
  • Pros:  soft flex and great pop, Stable at speed, compatible with most bindings
  • Cons:  hard to use if your a beginner,

Experience:   I used this board for the first time yesterday and it was great. this board is reletively soft but has very good pop. its also very easy to press on this board and it is very stable at high speeds. my only problem is its hard to get used to turning on this board, and it will probably take you a few runs to get used to the side wall cut.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DC BDR
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes
  • Pros:  BDR rocker tech, doesnt get really squirley at high speeds, butters are a dream

Experience:   i just got the board and it is amazing! the graphics are simple and are perfect for stickers. this baby floats like an angel and butters really well for a rating of a 6 for stiffness. The rocker took a couple runs to get used to but it will make your entire snowboarding experience crazy great with the 1cm or so of rocker
