  • Name: DON'T LOADSalomon Faction Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Comfortable, Quick to get in
  • Cons:  Hard to keep upper tight,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  8.5
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   These boots were a huge upgrade from my 04/05 Rode boots that killed my feet. Those of course had laces, so this system is a whole lot quicker than what I was used to. One flaw though is how the pinching system works. It' hard to get the string all the way in there to keep it tight. The inner seems to come loose more than the outer, but I found myself cranking on them all day. They still have don't have that much riding on them and maybe its just a matter of me packing them in, but I don't think that's the whole problem. Regardless, these are still a great value boot.

"Great Boot!" 4/2/2011

  • Name: DON'T LOADSalomon Faction Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Super easy to take on and off!, Most comfortable boot I've ever owned.,
  • Cons:  I usually have to tighten them twice a trip.,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11
  • Boot Size:  11

Experience:   The boots I bought because 1. im a huge fan of salamon and 2. because i was fed up with boots that had laces. The first time i used them on the mountain i fell in love! They kept my feet warm. Not once did my feet go numb. When taking a break at the lodge i could take them off in 2 seconds, and before I head back out, get em on in no time. And above all they worked for everything! Although mine are the 2010 model, give them a try, I can bet you'll go crazy for them.

"Very Comfortable" 2/1/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DON'T LOADSalomon Faction Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Quick and Easy to put on,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  10.5
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   I've had these for 2 days of riding so far... so far, so good! Previously had used rental boots and a pair of Vans... this is by far the most comfortable. The lacing system is VERY quick and easy, I never have any problems with it. I can lace both of my boots up and have them nice and tight while my friends are still trying to tie their first boot. This is my first true pair of boots I've ever owned, so I don't have much to compare too, but I can't find anything to complain about. Some other reviews said it comes loose easily, I haven't had that problem, plus it would only take 30 seconds to tighten again.

"Comfortable but hard to keep boots tightened" 1/23/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: DON'T LOADSalomon Faction Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  Warm, Soft, Comfortable
  • Cons:  Lacing system can come undone,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   I switched over from Burton Freestyle and Rulers. The Rulers kept slipping in my Mission Bindings and put a lot of pressure on my big toe, causing a laceration under the nail and lots of bleeding. So I needed a new pair of boots to replace them. I decided to go outside of Burton for a change of pace and am glad that I tried on these boots. For one, they fit my feet perfectly. I wear 9 shoes and the 9 boots fit exactly as I needed them to. In fact, after trying on a bunch of boots, these were the only ones that I didn't even feel like I was wearing boots - only regular shoes. They have a faux furry inner which is quite warm. In fact, my feet never got cold during my 5 day trip at Kirkwood. The tightening system leaves a lot to be desired. There is a standard wire that you pull to tighten the inner lining but you need to secure the wires into two tracts which are lined by teeth. It's pretty hard to get the wires into the tracts. The same goes for the out boot. Two teeth lined tracts that you have to put the wires into. On my average day, one of the inner wires and one of the outer wires had fallen out by the end of the day. There is a BOA version of this boot ($20-30 more) which should eliminate some of the problems with tightening the outer boot. Bottom line: pure warmth and comfort, but needs a better tightening system

"awful secure method" 12/31/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: DON'T LOADSalomon Faction Snowboard Boots Men's
  • Pros:  liked ankle better than burton,
  • Cons:  comes undone, hard to tighten,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9.5
  • Boot Size:  10

Experience:   i cant tell by the pictures if it's different now or not, but the boots i got 2 years ago were salomon boots, and they are the worst boots ever. when i was shopping for boots, i didnt like burton because it squeezed too much on the ankle for me and was uncomfortable in my opinion so i thought these would would out fine. and they're comfortable, until they come undone and make your feet and calves cramp up SUPER bad. to tighten them up, in the first layer, you have to get the strings in these little teeth-like things, and ive tried everything to shove them in there including credit cards, keys, a seatbelt buckle, and anything thats small enough to somewhat fit in the slot thats around me when im at the mountain getting ready. normally, i just give up and dont fully get it fixed, but the first time i took the time to get it all the way secured it took a little over 20 minutes. time i could have been riding. theyre perfectly good boots, but i have to get new ones because theyve sucked so bad for too long
