"Ok tool" 12/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  attachements,
  • Cons:  loose heads, shape,

Experience:   I used to use this tool before I got the Dakine Deluxe Kit which has a better tool. The reason I like that one better is the shape of the tool which is a T. It is better to handle then this one. Also there is no place to put the 5th head so if you fall it could hurt you bad. I would recommend that riders take the 5th head out and put it in a pocket or bag because I can tell you it does not feel good when you fall.

"Does the job, but other options are better" 5/25/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  5 interchangable bits, small size,
  • Cons:  not pocket-friendly, no storage space for 5th bit,

Experience:   This is a small snowboard tool with 5 interchangeable bits, 4 of which slide into the handle, the last of which stays on the head. If you want to be carrying all 5 bits with you, it means that the 5th bit will remain on the head, which is not going to be safe sitting in your pocket. So I guess it's meant for the board-bag, but then if thats the case, they should have made the tool bigger to make the work easier. Not to mention, there's no place to put the wrench! If you're going to grab this cheap tool, i'd recommend keeping just the 1 or 2 bits you actually need, in the handle, and just bringing it on the slopes.

"It sucks" 4/23/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  Different attachments,
  • Cons:  Locks itself up, and slips, Won't allow enough torque to be applied,

Experience:   This is a pile. It would be fine if you're using it as an ugly paperweight, but as a snow tool it doesn't do the job in a clutch. The only reason to even have these things is when there isn't a tool bench near you. This will rust if you keep it wet, so don't do that. I can't get it to apply enough torque to the binding disc screws. It's too difficult to tighten the screws, and it slips every single time I try to use it - and if I put it down to use a regular screwdriver I get to make up for all that torque, which means there is no point in having this thing. Don't waste your money, just pack a screwdriver in your car and be sure to tighten your disc screws before you ride, along with everything else that needs securing - you get the point.

"Great little tool!" 4/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  multiple heads, easy and quick screw, small to carry it around
  • Cons:  Wrench is attached by a foam connector,

Experience:   Great tool to carry it in your backpack and fix your binding on the fly. It came with multi heads and has different ratchet setting for easy and quick screwing. Even though it's pretty small, but still not that comfortable to carry it in your pocket.

"A must have" 1/7/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  Compact, Light weight, Easy to carry

Experience:   A pocket screw driver is a handy tool to have on the slopes. It's helped me out numerous times and fits well in any jacket pocket. I've owned other screwdrivers and I think this is definitely one of the best. Don't bother with the type that stores the bits at the the handle of the screwdriver. If the bits get wet and you store it in the cap, they rust up fast.

"Good Enough" 1/4/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  light weight, small size,
  • Cons:  rusts easy,

Experience:   This tool gets the job done and is small enough to fit in most bags or even a cargo pant, just watch out that it doesn't stab you. Watch out though because this tool will rust quite easy if it gets wet.

"Excellent" 1/4/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Cool Tool
  • Pros:  Cheap, works,
  • Cons:  Hex Key is attached with Foam,

Experience:   The foam attachment for the hexkey is wack. The old one did not have one and instead the hexkey was built on the screwdriver itself. Overall i am very satisfied with this purchase! This tool comes with all the bits I need to successfully tighten everything on my board/bindings.
