"Gets the job done" 1/29/2011
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  key lock/unlocks fast,
  • Cons:  A bit heavy, Thin cable,

Experience:   This lock works like it should. Key works great, and locks fine. However the cable is thin, and can be cut like many other locks. Cable also gets jammed sometimes and doesn't recoil all the way, not a major issue though. All in all its a solid lock for a decent price.

"A little peace of mind" 1/24/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Compact, Deters theft, Light weight
  • Cons:  Wire prone to jamming,

Experience:   This is a good lock and definitely a good investment to get some peace of mind. Although a lock doesn't stop someone from taking your board if they really wanted it, it does deter people from just picking up your board and walking away. One thing with this lock is that the wire is prone to jamming. I have owned one and the wire jammed after some extensive use. None the less, still a good investment.

"Good but heavy" 9/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Strong, comes with 2 sets of keys, Thick cable
  • Cons:  Heavier than other locks, Still bigger than other locks,

Experience:   This is a solid lock. before this I owned a burton lock which was much lighter and smaller. It ended up breaking which defeated the whole point of having it so despite the dakine being heavier and bulkier I would recommend it as thus far its stayed strong and everything on it seems much sturdier.

"its ok" 9/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  theft deterrent,
  • Cons:  thin wire, gotta use a key,

Experience:   A friend bought this for me. Didn't realize I had a hole in my pocket and lost the keys. I managed to yank the wire out of the lock. Don't know if its cause I put it wrong or if its just weak.

"Great little helper! " 7/30/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:   Light, compact, Durable, , Does a good job to deter thieft,
  • Cons:  Can be broke with hammer , Requires key to open,,

Experience:   This is a great invest for those who want to protect your board. The lock can also be used to other needs as well (eg bike, motocycle helmet lock). The lock is small enough to put it in your pocket. I dont know how stong this lock really is, as anyone could just use a hammer or soemthing strong to break it open. However, it will do a good job prevent theft since it will draw attention to anyone who tried to break it. Down side to this lock is that you need a key to open. Overall great investment.

"Maybe, Maybe Not" 6/16/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Sturdy Lock, Long wire,
  • Cons:  Retracting device not effective, A Little painful to use,

Experience:   Bought this extra to get my international shipping but I kind of regret it now. The auto retracting only works about 30% of the time, and to get the lock in place requires some big brute force, which ends up digging hard into your fingers.

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Strong lock system,

Experience:   With a new board for the season, I made sure to buy a lock system to protect my board from would be thieves... I think its important to secure your board regardless. Last season my mate lost his board when it slid off a rack outside a cafeteria near where he left it.

"Good investment" 6/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  Good investment, Deters thieves,
  • Cons:  Not really 100% secure,

Experience:   I would recommend if you got a stick that you want to protect from thieves get this. It's not really strong enough to stop the determined thief but you can't exactly carry around a lock that would be like 3 inches thick and stop a bolt cutter. It's not practical. The point of this lock is that it'll deter thieves from trying to steal your board because they can't be bothered. They're just going to steal the board next to yours that's unlocked.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Key Lock
  • Pros:  two keys, good length,
  • Cons:  not as small as other,

Experience:   A few bucks for piece of mind while you are at lunch.. Be able to leave your board out on the hill and not have to worry about some jerk stealing it. comes with 2 keys which is handy if you lose one or if you have mates that are sharing it with you..
