Sierra Says:

Ultimate board bag for destination travel. Most importantly, this bag splits into two checkable board bags...hint hint..Do not pay extra fees for exceeding the 50lb mark anymore!
When you go on a snowboard trip, bring your whole quiver! Do not sacrifice fun just because you have to travel on a plane...or be a nice guy and bring your friend's gear too.

"Dakine Overload Convertible" 3/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  Splits into 2 bags, Wheels,
  • Cons:  Don't come with shoulder strap,

Experience:   Great bag just got it for a total BARGAIN. Fits all of my snow gear in it easily. Don't even have to use the whole bag only using the bottom half of it, might use the other half to take my mates board overseas for him cause he don't have a bag yet. I would have liked for it to come with a shoulder strap so I can carry the bag over-snow cause can't exactly wheel the bag through snow, and a lot of on-mountain accommodation in Australia.

"Junk in the trunk" 3/28/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  HUGE, Wheels are big and tough, The split capability
  • Cons:  Almost to big, No shoulder strap,

Experience:   HUGE, this bag is seriously massive. It easily holds numerous boards, bindings, boots, clothes, your entire snowboarding travel needs. It actually fits my wife, it's almost to big. I havnt gotten a chance to use it on a trip yet, but it easily ate up everything I take with me. The split bag function is very cool, because it will easily go over 50lbs before you know it. I live in FLA so I needed a heavy duty bag to fly with and feel good about it getting tossed around by the baggage guys. If you fly a lot to ride this is your bag! It is probably overkill otherwise. But it's a great bag either way. The wheels seem very durable, and has a skid pad to eat up curbs. Only knock is no shoulder strap, but that's really not a big deal. Get this bag while it's this cheap, great deal!

"fine padded bag, the 200cm is TOO BIG" 2/8/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  mucho space, double your pleasure, solid construction, rolly wheels
  • Cons:  WRONG SIZE !!!, no compartments, boot bags,

Experience:   Ordered this for my wife last year (great deal, thanks Sierra)before a big trip. Ordered in 180cm to comply with stoopid airline regulations (as I interpreted them at the time). When it arrived, it looked WAAAYYY bigger than my 184 cm burton wheelie bag, so I got out my measuring stick and SURE ENOUGH it was 200 cm. The da kine tag actually said 180, so I can't hold it against the seller. Also it was just a few days before the trip, so we had to suck it up. I've never used both bags (it comes with two) at the same time on the same trip, but it is useful to have additional bag options at times. Bottom line, solid bag at a solid deal, MAKE SURE you get the size you want. -b

"Great Board Bag (s)" 6/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  Capacity, Light weight, Fits Two boards
  • Cons:  No shoulder strap,

Experience:   I got this bag at a great price and I don't regret purchasing it. It is a great way to transport your boarding gear. The bag can fit more than just your board. It is essentially two bags and you can detach the bags if needed. It would be nice to have a shoulder strap but it does have wheels and side handles. Definitely buy if you plan to travel with your board.

"Closet with wheels!" 4/19/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  Gigantic!, Can fit 2 boards then some!, Convenient, Style! (gray one is fly!)

Experience:   After a trip to Tahoe, I learned a very viable lesson! get snowboard luggage with wheels!!!! I, being a nice bf, was carrying my gf's board along withe mine the whole trip! it's a pain! airport! to the car! then back!! you know after carrying those things 20 times they do get too heavy! horrible experience! so, I had an enlightenment that I MUST buy a luggage such as this!! It is a VERY huge luggage!! obviously, two boards fit..and even with that, you still had plenty of room! This board accommodate (my gear and gf's) boots, jackets, snowpants, gloves, goggles, helmet..I MEAN EVERYTHING!! and still got plenty of room!! just be careful when you fly...make sure you won't exceed 50 lbs..or you'll be charge extra..this luggage's really convenient! NOW I CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO ASPEN, CO NEXT SEASON!!!!!!

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Dakine Overload Convertible (180cm)
  • Pros:  Loads of room, Durable, Good padding
  • Cons:  no shoulder strap ,

Experience:   The Dakine Overload Convertible is a pretty sweet boardbag. Its durability makes it perfect for long travels and those bloody baggage handlers at airports. Overall its worth the $190 (or at the moment on sale for $57)... I would definately recomend this bag for long distance travels.
