Sierra Says: The Flite 3 offers the best performance for the price in the Flow lineup. Designed for all-mountain riding, this binding is versatile enough to go anywhere and do anything. It is perfect for the progressing beginner to intermediate riders that want to push themselves to become better fast. With four locking ratchets you can obtain the best snug fit imaginable while being comfortable and supported. Added to this is the low-profile CI-Flex strap that will contour to every boot shape and style so you do not have to worry about your boot shifting within the binding. Support, comfort, and response all for an affordable price come standard with the Flite 3.

Flow Says: With the new Flite 3, you get both and a whole lot more. This model provides a stable but forgiving ride with our durable POM plastic baseplate and hiback. Plus, the four easy-to-adjust MINIratchets will guarantee precise tension and comfort of the luxury PowerStrap to fit any type of boot and allow for the micro-adjustments you need, when you need it. With additional performance features like our new, comfy CI-Flex PowerStrap, the Single-Dial forward lean adjusters, and EVA cushioning in the baseplates, you’ll feel like a pro, rather than an amateur.

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  Fast strap in/out, lightweight,, Very comfortable for wide foot riders, No more toe/ankle pains
  • Cons:  Can be difficult to find perfect setup, May not work well with all boots, Attention
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   They are a pain to setup and will take time getting used to strapping in, but only because I am used to standard ankle and toe-strap bindings. Just two days on the mountain and I feel like I found the easiest way to strap in. Drop down on toe-edge and knees, stomp in back foot, and snap in the backplate. They are harder to get boots in when dry due to friction. On the mountain, it's a different story. The pressure is well distributed around my entire foot, which was a big problem with my old Ride LX bindings. I have wide feet which creates extra pressure and pain on my pinky toes using standard toe straps. Flow Flite 3 bindings have not had any boot slip problems typically found in Burton toe-cap setups. I was looking for comfort first and weight second in my new bindings. The Flow Flite 3 are very comfortable and much lighter than my old Ride LXs. * Those having problems with responsiveness from these bindings - make sure you adjust the lean on the backplate. ** Boots with large or wide heels may have problems fitting in these bindings. *** POM Plastic (see Wikipedia) material still scares me. Chlorine has been known to weaken the material, so do not expose them to tap water. So far they feel tough and durable. 4 stars out of 5 due to material.

****UPDATE: I saw a video on YouTube about the Flow Team bindings that shattered on a rider. The baseplate material was constructed of magnesium. Which actually has a chemical reaction when submerged in water (see Wikipedia); "When it is submerged in water, hydrogen bubbles will almost unnoticeably begin to form on the surface of the metal, though if powdered it will react much more rapidly. The reaction will occur faster with higher temperatures (see precautions)." Knowing this, I feel more confident in my purchase of the Flow Flite 3 bindings and wish I could change the review score to a 5 out of 5.

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  quick strap in , nice fit,
  • Cons:  hard to setup, low q material ,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   First to begin these binding are on the cheaper end of the flow line of models. They are easy to strap into BUT is hard and takes some time to set it up. When my local ski shop tried to pre-setup for me, he couldn't get it right and told me to try at home instead, because he didn't have the right tools. The material is not the best either, looks relatively cheap in the price range compared to other brands. If you look on youtube they have drop test and they break pretty easily. It does fit nicely though when l did get it to the correct set up. The maneuverability is not great but is normal for all strap ins. I later returned it because l found better deals for the same price point. I would only buy this if your starting out. If you do want a strap in, get a better quality one.

"Good, but check the boot fit." 5/13/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  Sleek Design, Hatch system works well,
  • Cons:  Can get lost with adjustments, Hi-back System initially didn't fit boot),

Experience:   Now this is coming from a guy that hasn't used flow binding systems before. Initial thoughts were all positive, the white binding looked great and seems well manufactured and sturdy. Unfortunately My boots did not fit correctly, there was a loop system on the back of my vans (used to carry boots???) that pushed agains the high-back which means you had movement and your foot was not pushed all the way back to the binding. I simply had to cut this tab/loop of my boot for a simple fix, never feels right having to cut a pair of boots though. I also have trouble getting my boot to fi the flow on entry, getting them out is fine but I think i need to play with the adjustments a bit to make entry easier.

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  Fast to strap in, Good size, Great hold
  • Cons:  Slow to set up,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I bought these in Large to go with my size 10 boots. As this was my first time setting up my own board it took a while to get everything just right. But once you get them set up they are SO quick and easy to strap in! I'm not crazy about the styling but as far as functionality goes, I am very pleased with these bindings and would recommend them.

"Flow Flite 3's" 3/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  Fast Strap In, Light Weight, Durable
  • Cons:  Needing to wait for friends,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These bindings are great. My old strap-in ones broke at the top of the hill (a screw fell off on the chairlift and a strap went MIA). I was recommended Flow bindings from a friend, and after some research I found Sierra to be the cheapest. Once I received these bindings I was very impressed with the ease and secureness. Normally I have to wait for my friends at the bottom of the hill, but now also at the top. ½ the time I just strap in on the way up the lift. These bindings are extremely comfortable and I have no complaints. I definitely recommend these to everyone.

"See ya at the bottom! Im tired of waiting on you guys!" 3/17/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Flow Flite 3
  • Pros:  Simple, sleek, Durable, affordable, Easy tool less adjustments 4 on the go.
  • Cons:  Be patient, might take a few rides to tweak.,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   This binding is comfortable and easy to use. Feels great on my feet. No sore toes or foot cramps. I use flow boots so they match perfect. I WAIT FOR EVERYBODY I SHRED WITH TO STRAP INTO THEIR BINDINGS! Thats the downfall to these, if your buds dont have them, you stand around waiting on them. Very friendly binding to all level riders but you do need to spend time on setting them up to your boot. The have a easy tool less forward lean adjustment for your highback. They have length adjustment for your highback cable underneath the binding so dont forget b4 you screw it to the board. The 4 mini ratchets hold tight and make it easy for simple adjustments. Pretty responsive binding if you set them up right and make sure they're snug to your boot. Very durable, I've had zero problems with them. The white color in these is SICK!
