The M9 is our premiere all mountain binding that combines the feel of a molded Nylon baseplate with the support of the Aluminum heel cup from our ModBack hiback. This results in a moderately stiff bindings with a snappy response, but the TWEAK.7 SupportPanel brings in enough flex for that freestyle feel. Equipped with the proven I-FUSION PowerStrap you know you'll be comfy and all set for some serious riding.

"Not as Nice as Gnu Rear-Entry Bindings" 3/12/2013
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: Flow M9 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Quick Entry/Exit, Good Quality,
  • Cons:  Limited Adjustment on the Fly,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I bought a set of these for my son this year as he kept saying that he wanted bindings like the Roxy and Gnu Rear-entry Bindings that my wife and I have. These are a nice binding, however I see more advantages to buying the Gnu or Roxy bindings as I feel you have much more adjustment options with them. The Gnu and Roxy bindings have a toe strap and on the fly quick ratchet adjustments. Don't get me wrong, the Flows are a nice binding, the rear-entry design was just perfected by Mervin in the Gnu and Roxys by combining the best of a rear-entry and a traditional strap-in binding into one. Just do yourself a favor and check out a pair of the Gnu or Roxy (or even the K2 Cinch)and compare them to a set of Flow bindings before you buy them.

I forgot to mention, the ones I bought for my son were the 2012 Flow M9. It appears that Flow has added some more adjustment capabilty to the 2013 M9 bindings.

"Want less time ratcheting and more time riding? Try these Badboys." 10/4/2012
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Flow M9 Snowboard Bindings
  • Pros:  Hands down fastest way to get strapped in, Practiacally no preassure points under the straps, Surprisingly light and durable
  • Cons:  Getting in and out takes some getting used to, Setup can be pretty difficult, Constantly needs checking for loose parts
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   After seeing these bindings I was sceptical but curious about them and decided to give them a lash. After riding them I'm going to find it hard to go back to regular bindings because they aren't just easy to use but they are a little more responsive, less bulky and equally tough. Getting in and out of these bindings takes seconds. You have to be patient if you roll a set of these because you're going to end up waiting for your mates to get strapped in. The huge single strap distributes pressure nicely so you don't get pressure points underneath. The cable support for the high back also gives you a little more control on heel turns. The flex on these bindings is right in the mid ranges so you can get away with doing most types of riding. The toughest part of these bindings is the setup. It takes some patience and trial and error to set them up just right. They are supposed to be set and forget bindings, which is great if you never have to take your bindings off your board but a bit of a pain if you do. Getting your way in and out of these bindings is also a skill that has to be learned but it really only takes a day or two to get used to it. I would say that these bindings are only useable if you can toe turn since the entry and exit is from the heel edge, so learners should steer clear of these. Because of the amount of moving parts on these bindings I also found that I had to be pretty vigilant about parts coming loose. You should check any binding anyway but I found that I could get away with less on these and checking regularly has saved me from losing screws on the mountain. Overall these are solid bindings that are lightning fast to get in and out of. They can save you a huge amount of time but are still responsive and good for just about any style of riding or conditions you would expect to take them on.
