Sierra Says: The Shaka is a mid-flexing, all-mountain binding with uber comfy straps and a lightweight design. Combining the strength of aluminum and the flex of synthetic plastic, the Shaka is the best of both worlds. This binding pairs up well with just about any all-mountain freestyle board and can be enjoyed by any level of rider.

Forum Says: Candy and daughter jokes aside, the Shaka rides like a trippy van, it goes with the flow. So it's easy to see how a chill surf session, a bearded guru and too much Zappa helped Forum techs see the light. Their idea to share the love with a fully-padded freeflex binding for a four-hole pattern was genius and is why bros and brahs can n... More ?

"Nice Binding" 12/29/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Good Flex, Amazing Board Feel
  • Cons:  Caution Big Feet,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   There are many great aspects to this binding. I rode the Republic last year (which I loved) and this offering is just as good. The board feel is simply amazing and the padding under the your feet helps a lot. The hinged disc is definitely innovative and works well with reverse camber. The biding is at home in the park and works very good for an all-mountain freestyle rider like myself. My one word of caution is to riders with big feet (13 and up). The hinged disc only has 4 holes so all of the adjustment from port to starboard on the board comes from the adjustable heel cup. I am able to get it close to centered but it is not exactly so (size 13 Lashed Boots). I hope that the next edition of the Shaka brings back the multiple mounting holes to the hinged disc for the big footers out there.

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Tricky instillation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   I just demo'ed these for 3 days. The Irie colors are really fun, but after a slide down an icy-snow slope, the paint on the heelcups wore off quickly. They also got a chip out of the heelcup. The hinged mounting disk is weird, dont know why they did that, and the markings make it hard to know just what angle you are setting it at. Once you get them set up, they have good control and the straps are well padded and super comfy, and the buckles are smooth. Great riding bindings, just the surface needs to be more durable and needs standard discs. The full footbed pads are nice too. I gave them a 4 because of their good ride, if you dont care how they get scraped and chipped easily.

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  color, flex, weight, comfort,
  • Cons:  price,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   I got these bindings on warranty for some republics, so it worked out pretty good for me. The price is pretty steep, but after riding them I would say that it is well worth it. These are some of the best bindings you can get.

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  straps are tough, good flex on highback,
  • Cons:  no dampining under binding,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   borrowed these from my friend to put on my stairmaster. my friend got the rasta looking ones and they actuall held up great. they had good response and flex. the highback was supportive on all my carves and jumps. only thing i dont like about forum and burton is they have nothing under the binding so it jus scratches the board up.

  • Pros:  flex with board, colors,
  • Cons:  price,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   my friend just got this binding yesterday. its sick. the ultimate all moutain binding. you want stiffer binding for groomers, pow, jumps. yet for rails and jibs you want them soft. you can actually adjust this on the binding, and it flexes naturally with your board. soooooooooooooooooooooo sssssssssssiiiiiiicccccccckkkkkkk the price is scary though

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  comfy, flex amazing, Worth price, looks badass! ,
  • Cons:  long set up, +12 size lookout,
  • Flex:  soft

Experience:   these bindings are amazing! i bought and got a great deal on these bad boys. i have a forum recon 156 and a forum manual 155 and they ride perfect with these shakas brah! install is a lil tricky. takes time to adjust to ur boots but worth every second and cent spent. comfy, durable, and of course looks bad ass in the colors. my flat blacks get compliments every time i hit the slopes. if ur looking for the binding of ur dreams for under 300...these are for u. u wont be disappointed!

"Seriously good bindings" 1/5/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  Works everywhere! park, pow, pipe, Comfy, no pressure points, fits perfect,
  • Cons:  Takes some adjustment to get that perfect fit,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Found a whole new layer of steeze hiding in my old board with these bindings! Can't wait to mount them on my capita coming in the mail! These bindings really help you feel your board as if its a part of your body. I used to only ride Ride bindings, I am forever swayed. Never going back. The Shaka is where its at.

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  soft,
  • Cons:  cheap,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   woah man fully padded four hole design its a fuckin scam if u have a burton binding with a full padded bottom but a four hole board peel the padding off the three hole atatchment and put it on the four hole, the glur sticks right on like a sticky note, when u have to adjust peel it off, and then put it back on again

"2010 Forum Shaka" 11/5/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Forum Shaka
  • Pros:  Light weight, Ability to feel full flex of board, Comforatable
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   The 2010 Forum Shaka Bindings are by far the best Forum bindings I've ridin. The Shakas allow you to mount to any 4 hole pattern, and still have the feel of the Burton EST system. The Shaka's allow to feel the full flex of your snowboard, and they are also one of the most comfortable bindings. Under your foot you have an impact cushion that is legit for park riding and all mountain riding.
