  • Name: GNU Carbon Cit Series BTX Wide Snowboard Blem 159 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Extruded base (easy to patch if dinged), Good value, Great intro to freestyle stick
  • Cons:  Not the most durable , Medium swing weight, Extruded base

Experience:   This deck is one of the 2011 Good Wood Award winners for best park deck under $399. For the price, I think you are definitely getting what you paid for. It is a true twin, rocker profile (BTX), with Marvin's very own Magne-traction (MTX) technology. The MTX side-cut is great for hacking east coast ice, and for cutting through sketchy turns. The BTX makes this board easy to dial-in presses and butters. I am 200lbs, and rode the 159 carbon credit. With 10.5US boots, the board's 255mm waist provided me with enough platform to stomp bigger landings without hindering my edge to edge transitions. The deck lacks pop due to the rocker profile, and the swing weight is on the heavier side compared to other jib/freestyle stick. If you're looking for an all mountain freestyle ride that is not going to put a ding in your wallet, I would say this is a great board for you. If you ride the park 80-90% of the time, there are better decks out there.

  • Name: GNU Carbon Cit Series BTX Wide Snowboard Blem 159 Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  cheap!, banana , magna trx
  • Cons:  slower base,

Experience:   i highly recommend this board to anyone on a budget for most types of riding. the mtx tears up ice as advertised and the banana camber also performs as its supposed to, im sure you dont need to hear it again. if your looking to try a banana and are on a budget then this is for you. i sized down a little bit for more of a park board, the rocker between your feet and catch free edges make landing jumps much easier than my previous camber boards, though i was hoping it had a little more pop out of the flat tail. It's super fun to screw around with in on any run, though a little tough to do crazy butters because its not rocker in the tip/tail. Overall, this is a great board at its price range and I think absolutely perfect for any east coast/midwest small mountains that you go to fool around on runs and hang in the park. I haven't had it in any real pow but i heard it can do that alright as well.

I ride this in a 156 size, went from a burton clash to this. Amazing board, carves into australian ice well and great to go through the trees with. It feels light compared to other boards and I have had a go on. I would recommend it.

"Fun Board" 7/14/2011

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Spins easily, Good float off trail, Nose presses
  • Cons:  Soft edges,

Experience:   This board is just plain fun. You can jump, slide, butter, run flat, act as goofy as you want and it will be very forgiving. My only complaint: Edges are soft and will gouge if you roll off a rails early.

Experience:   this is my first snowboard purchase and i am glad it was the one i bought. I have rode plenty of boards in the past that weren't all that great but since my recent purchase, i have taken this board to Pennsylvania, North Carolina, West Virgina, and recently California. I took this board to Lake Tahoe and it was perfect. It took on the powder great, did well on the rails in the park, allowed me to carve quickly and smoothly while going fast down the blacks, and it is quick to respond if you are moving slowly thru slow zones. I purchased 2011 Burton Cartels which are great bindings and a pair of Burton Shaun White boots. The whole combo works great and i can't wait to get back out there!
