Over the past few years Gnu rider Forest Bailey has repeatedly strapped himself to the top of a Pickle Snowboard and gotten completely weird. His skate influenced take on snowboarding is decidedly un-kosher. He rides hard, wins contests, wears sweaters, is salty and has achieved supreme balance through asymmetry. Forest Bailey has earned his very own Gnu Psychedelic Park Pickle model! Limited edition Early Release Forest Bailey Psychedelic Park Pickle Model available now! Twin asymmetric Magne-Traction Banana for ducks! The Park Pickle takes the next step in snowboard specific geometries. Banana between your feet for easy riding, catch free park freestyle performance, and unreal float in powder. Magne-Traction for unreal edgehold everywhere. Asymmetric sidecuts and construction to balance the different turning mechanics required for heelside turns and toe side turns. Your heels have power and a direct line to your edges…your toes have finger like finesse and control but your energy must be transmitted out too your toes through the power robbing 90° angle of your foot and ankle. Your body is asymmetric, your snowboard should be asymmetric. Park Pickles with a deeper heelside sidecut and unique asym core, are designed around progressive riding and modern freestyle duck stances in all terrain. Experimenting is fun! TWSNOW Good Wood Winner! Snowboarder Best of Test Winner!

Base color may very.

"Best Park/Freestyle board I have EVER used" 3/15/2011
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: GNU Forest Pickle PTX Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Low Spin weight, Strong Base, MTX, Assym. Heel Cut, Banana Tech, Flex, Decent Pop, Unique Look, Pre-Detuned
  • Cons:  Tough in Chop like most RC boards,

Experience:   I bought this (153) board a couple weeks ago from Tru-snow and have put quite a few hours on it already... There is so much to love about this board. First off, I had been looking at the Park Pickle for some time but I really disliked the nasty green color of the main line so this was a ease for my hesitations. I bought this board with the intent of using it as a park and all mountain freestyle and came pre-detuned between the feet from the factory, awesome. Perhaps one of the most notable qualities of this board is the core construction; it doesn't go beyond the contact points into the kinked tips of the board. This makes the board spin like a shorter class. The next thing I noticed was the banana tech and the way it handled boxes and rails. Board is able to lock on boxes and rails very easily for some sick presses and also has an exceptional room for error when it comes to catching edges. The tech on this creates fairly poppy ollies. The assymetrical heel side cut is not a game changer unless you are performing REAL carve turns or are hitting the pipe (which this board KILLS on). The flex is not too stiff so presses can be achieved but is not a noodle by any means and can handle even most booters. This is my first board with magnetraction and I expected it to not be too great, it is. Hitting icy slopes on spring mornings are no challenge nor frozen night riding, which I have used this board on. I have had very little sliding out on ice and I can really feel the magnetraction doing its job. Finally, the 9000 Sintered base is fantastic. I nailed a branch sticking out of a quarter pipe very hard and it caused very, very little damage to the base. I recommend this as an Advanced board primarily because lower level riders will trash this board before being able to utilize all the amazing features it has to offer (low spin weight, Assym. Heel cut, strong base. All around the best board I have ever used in my life.

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Mid Flex, Great On Icey Conditions,
  • Cons:  Little Choppy, Top Sheet Chips,

Experience:   best park board around. I have demoed the skate banana and this is soo much better with the asymmetrical heel edge. if your looking for something for 50ft+ jumps, go for a lib tech trs though.

"This board is ROCKSTAR" 3/9/2011
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: GNU Forest Pickle PTX Snowboard Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Fun, you can ride it small, nimble

Experience:   I actually own the 2010 version but my friend Joe just bought this one. It rides exactly the same. It does ride a bit loose but I carve down the mountain quickly on it. Now if you're interested in this board you may have read some stuff about it not being an All mountain board and I'm inclined to agree you won't likely use this board for dropping out of a helicopter onto virgin snow but it rides all over the resort like a champ. If you want a board that's really fun in the park and perfor all over the resort this is a great quiver killer. Its not the right tool for the backcountry but for most people who stick to the standard trails, like to hit jumps and use the terrain features like rails, boxes abd walls you can't go wrong with this.
