  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  light, buttery, cuts thru ice

Experience:   This is a great board to ride, a floating like feeling on the snow. The board allows for easy switch riding, making turns and carve incredibly easy. The board is quick and great for cutting through icy hills. A great board for beginners all the way to advance rider. Its a bit pricy for beginners, but banana boards are one of the best type of boards for beginners to learn from.

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Magnetraction, Perfect hybrid rocker shape,
  • Cons:  No metal edge on tip and tail, Stiff at first, Not an especially light board

Experience:   LOVE the magnetraction-- great grip for the ice coast. A little stiff but softens over time (and that stiffness gives it more all-mountain capabilities). Good on boxes and jumps, esp sketchy landings. If I could change anything I'd agree with the rest of the reviews and make the metal edge go all the way around.

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Light Weight, Tons of Pop, Great on Ice
  • Cons:  Doesn't have full wrap around metal edges, top sheet chips easily,

Experience:   Magnetraction takes a little getting used to at first because it has much more grip than any other snowboard I've ever used...makes it feel like a completely different ride. The board rides great on ice due to this but also handles amazing in powder due to the bananatraction, which is basically just a rocker. Great board in the park and on all other parts of the mountain. The only real complaints I have about this board is that if someone hits you in the lift line on the nose or tail it will really take chips out of your board. Also, the top sheet chips really easy so if you care how how your board looks (I don't) then this probably isn't the board for you. Great overall board for the couple of years I've ridden it.

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Mid flex, Stable, FUN!
  • Cons:  No full wrap edges,

Experience:   This board is an all mountain killer. Perfect for everything you could come across. Slays the park, slashes the powder, and rails turns on ice! My only complaint is more of a personal gripe against the construction of the board. I really wish lib would start putting edges around the entire board to help stop damage from noobs in the liftline that hit your nose and tail.

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  easy carving, very fast, has pop
  • Cons:  too much maintance, little stiff at first, needs to be broken in

Experience:   Over all great board, switched my Arbor Wasteland with my buddy for a day at Winter Park. He had just gotten his Gnu and only had it two days of riding but complained it was stiffer than he wanted it to be. So we swapped and he liked how my Arbor performed. I told him that I heard his Gnu just needs to be ridden more to get a softer feel which by the end of the day it seemed to be more responsive. What I really liked about the Gnu was that it's edges supports what I call lazy carving. Hardly catches edge and rides real smooth down the mountain.

  • Pros:  Float in powder, Power Banana C2 BTX, Board Sizing
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   Had the 2010 upgraded to the 2011 power banana. This board will shred the whole mountain and since you have the banana you get to ride a shorter board and still float in the powder!! The power banana is great for giving you more edge hold when landing jumps. This is very handy for riding in the park. This is my favorite board of all time and have been riding for roughly 17 years! You get your moneys worth!

"Great Board" 12/9/2010

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great freeride board, Magnetraction!!,
  • Cons:  Gnuoodle after a long season,

Experience:   This board was fun for awhile. The magnetraction allows you to be lazy in edge sharpening while getting similar results to a sharpened edge. It's got great pop and is a good board to ride for various different levels. The board does soften up a bit after a long year of riding. I'm waiting for the day it breaks, but I definitely got my moneys worth!

  • Pros:  flexy, light, all around good

Experience:   my buddy owned this board and loved it. he said it was one of the best he's ridden. it's good for everything, park, pow, backcountry, you name it. it did well for almost all season, until he jumoed off a small cliff and landed on a rock which ripped out a big chunk on the back. but that would happen with any board you do that to. from what we could tell it would've lasted for seasons to come. great board.

"2010 Rider's Choice" 11/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: GNU Riders Choice C2 BTX Snowboard - Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  reverse camber - great in powder, light,
  • Cons:  high maintenance base,

Experience:   After my Lib Tech Travis Rice 157 was stolen, i decided to go for something softer and lighter in the riders choice. It is a great board for riding powder, the nose just seems to pop back up if you overbalance forward. i ride in Niseko, Japan so ride this board in some pretty deep powder, and it laps it up. The MTX is also great for riding hard pack, especially when the pipe/park gets a little icy. The only downside is that the base requires pretty frequent waxing. For a lower maintenance board (but very similar otherwise) try the Lib Tech TRS.

Comments & Questions

mrsolsunshine
That sucks your board was ganked. That happened to a friend of mine two weeks ago and ruined the rest of the day for us. Now I either take my board with me at all times or lock it up.
