"Giro Encore" 12/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Giro Encore 2
  • Pros:  Cheap, Light,
  • Cons:  Strap is too tight,

Experience:   I got this helmet over the summer, so I got a pretty good deal on it. I decided last year that since I was going to be doing more dangerous riding, I was going to need a helmet, which I recommend to everyone. Unfortunately, my head is in between a M and a L, so, like an idiot, I went for the M and it's a little too snug. This is no fault of the helmet, I'm just telling you this so that you'll learn from my mistake and go try on a helmet before you buy one. Also, the chin strap is really tight, even when I loosen it all the way. I understand that you don't want the helmet to be bouncing around on your head, but this is a little too much. Maybe it's because I should have gotten the L so the strap on the L might be a little bigger? I haven't taken any nasty falls yet this season so I can't speak to how the helmet has protected my head yet, but it is a comfortable fit with the foam inserts and it keeps my head warm better than a beanie. For the price I paid, I think this helmet is a great value, and while I have never worn a helmet before until now and can't compare it to anything, I would still recommend buying this one. It's cheap and it works. What else can you ask for?

"very nice helmet" 12/22/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Giro Encore 2
  • Pros:  comfortable, lightweight,
  • Cons:  chin strap,

Experience:   great helmet, picked it up this spring near the end of the season @ dirt cheap price. very comfortable and lightweight, good breathability as well. i like the design of the goggle strap holder in the back. only thing i wasn't a fan of was the way the chin strap was, just felt too snug no matter how much i tried to loosen it.

"Pretty sweet helmet" 9/7/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Giro Encore 2
  • Pros:  great fit, looks awesome, not massive

Experience:   There are so many helmets that make your head look massive. i almost bought the giro revolver thinking that would look ok but i tried both of these helmets on at ballistyx here in Melbourne and the giro encore 2 is a sweet looking/fitting helmet. totally recommend it! oh and it saved my head and day of snowboarding atleast twice.

"Giro Encore 2 Snowboarding Helmet" 5/31/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Giro Encore 2
  • Pros:  Comfortable, light, Low Profile, Cheap, Warm, Goggle strap doesnt slip
  • Cons:  The velcro padding slips sometimes,

Experience:   Bought this helmet as my first helmet and it did not disappoint. At first, I thought the color was a bit weird because it was dark green but it grew on me quickly. I didnt like wearing a helmet at first but now i feel naked without it. Its warm and very light. Highly recommended.
