Sierra Says: K2 brought back their dual rockered, powder specific skis, the Hellbents! These guys handle at top notch performance in the powder and are more fun than you can imagine. Turning in the powder with the Hellbent's is close to effortless and their stability on the groomers while making large turns is shocking. With its unbelievable ability to handle short turns, as well as, long curvy lines, the K2 Hellbent will give you the durability and performance you deserve.

K2 Says: Often imitated, but never equaled, the HellBent's twin tip Rocker design equals supreme floatation in powder while allowing you to stomp both switch and regular landings in the deepest conditions. Not content being a mere pow tool, the HellBent gives you generous ability to carve your way down to the bottom of back to the lift. We have a hard time getting Andy Mahre to ever take them off his feet.

"Hell Bent - Hell Yeah!" 8/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: K2 Hell Bent
  • Pros:  Everything you can do in 6+ of powder,
  • Cons:  Tight icy bumps, but why would you do that?,

Experience:   I tried a lot of powder skis before I discovered the Hell Bents. These Skis are incredible! I tried them out in the 179s with a tradition mounting position, but I purchased the 189s and mounted them at plus 5 just about true center. So first things first, the performance in deep powder is amazing, the steeper and tighter the better, I'm constantly amazed by how nimble these enormous skis really are. This ski provides a soft landing in any position; I am convinced that you cannot submarine the tips. I expected the performance on groomers and out of the powder to suffer, but was pleasantly surprised by how well this ski carved on the way back to the lift. They are a bit long and heavy to throw around in tight bumps, but as soon as they touch the powder and start floating they can handle the tightest trees I can find. I really like the deep side cut that this ski has, this along with the full rocker, allows the ski to flex well even it light powder and lets you make some really tight turns without pushing through to the bottom. The rocker is stiff enough to mash through crud, but soft enough to keep above the light stuff. Awesome boards!

"Hella Fun Skis" 11/6/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: K2 Hell Bent
  • Pros:  Effortless Turns in Powder, Great Float, Super Fun, Playful
  • Cons:  Washy on Hard Pack, Heavy,

Experience:   Ever since the Hell Bents were released a few years ago I have loved riding them in the deep champagne powder fields of Steamboat. What I love about the Hell Bents so much is that they make shredding the powder so easy and effortless. With their full reverse camber they allow you to easily dip and dive in and out of the powder creating one of the funnest rides ever for me. The only down side to the Hell Bents is that once you have to get back on the hard packed trails they tend to wash out sometimes, but they make for some fun butters off little knolls.
