Sierra Says: Great comfort, quick adjustments, and smooth flexibility all come together in the Raider Boa Coiler. Equipped with a single Boa system and Fast-In Liner, this boot minimizes the time spend getting ready and takes the hassle out of getting your boots laced up. Also, the Intuition liner offers a custom fit to your foot which will keep your feet comfortable all season. "Questioning waterproofing" 6/1/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: K2 Raider Boa
  • Pros:  Easy BOA system, Comfortable,
  • Cons:  Heel slip, Waterproofing?,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11
  • Boot Size:  10.5

Experience:   I really wanted to say this was a five-star as the first boot I've owned but there are two issues I've had - one is the fit seemed to wear out quickly, and I needed to have heel locks put in at my local shop. The other is that the waterproofing seems iffy after around 12 days out on the mountain. My last trip, my feet were SOAKED after the first day out, but it was rainy and slushy that day in VT and I chalked it up to the weather. However, on a clear day the next day, my feet were still pretty wet by the end. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm thinking they're not waterproof anymore. Overall, I like the boots because I'm sentimental about them and they have good qualities, but I'd be a little iffy about recommending them.

"Great boots !!" 5/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: K2 Raider Boa
  • Pros:  BOA system very quick and easy, Liner lacing is single pull and auto lock, Pretty well priced
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  13 (roomy)
  • Boot Size:  11.5 (pretty tight)

Experience:   I have worn a fair few boots over time and i found this one to fit me best. All i can say is, boot fitting is SO unique. I have a rather large foot. But very skinny ankles. I found this boot to be the most comfortable. Both the liner lace and boot BOA system make it such a quick and easy boot to put on.

"Best Raider Model So Far" 4/21/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: K2 Raider Boa
  • Pros:  Stronger than all previous models, The Linner has a more effeciant lacing system, Stitiching is stronger
  • Cons:  Shell doesn't stop water, Liner lets water in,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  10 -11 depending
  • Boot Size:  11 - 11.5

Experience:   I managed to get a sweet deal from a guy I know who owns a snowboard shop. I was not set with these boots, so I decided that buying a better was in order and tossed these to the side as a spare pair of boots. These things are not very waterproof nor are the all to comfortable. The Boas work just fine, but the padding inside is a little awkward and creates pressure points. Perhaps I may take a good pair of liners and place them in these shells. Overall, if you get these for cheap, why not?
