  • Name: Lamar Mission Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Inexpensive, Lightweight, Metal Tips
  • Cons:  Stiff, NO Pop, Delaminating

Experience:   Bought this board on close out it was cheap and I collect. Rode one season no issues used for powder and back country. 2nd season every little nick and cut top and bottom started pealing away and delaming. This is a great ride it like you stole it in powder and trees if you can find it for around $50 used like I did.

"Worst snowboard I've used" 12/21/2010

  • Name: Lamar Mission Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  None,
  • Cons:  Choppy even on flat terrain, Not a good camber or rocker, Catches edge easily

Experience:   My friend got this board as a rental and I wanted to try it out. After all, what do I have to lose? I also had a crappy board. But this board made my crappy board look like a god. These boards caught edge easily as the nose and tail metal edges were a requirement to be detuned. These are also choppy on flat terrain. Not buttery at all. Also, it doesn't have a camber or rocker. I actually think it has a camber actually but even if there was, it sucked. There is no pros for this board. Hence the word crappy snowboard.

  • Name: Lamar Mission Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  cheap,
  • Cons:  choppy, unstable, flimsy

Experience:   i have this board and i am not proud of it. this is the worst board i have ever owned. i rode it for half a day then rented a board for the rest of the day. this board is extremely choppy on ice, groomers, or on perfectly fine snow at higher speeds. this board is very unstable too. i was scared to go faster than 20 mph. when i went fast it was like i couldnt turn smoothly and it was like i was fighting the board. you catch your edge very easily when the board is flat too. it would start kind of waving back and forth on the snow. if i were to do it again i wouldnt even think about buying this board again. use your $300 on a better board.

what binders/boots were you using? It may not be a good board but that kind of information would be helpful as that generally makes a difference for riders . . . . -b

  • Name: Lamar Mission Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Cheap, Good start,
  • Cons:  Low flex, Unstable, Flimsy

Experience:   This was my first board. I loved just having a board back at the time. But looking back I realize how bad this board is. It has almost NO FLEX AT ALL!!! You are lucky to do any real buttering without snapping the thing. And if the snow was even slightly choppy you feel every bump, and it almost seems if it was amplified through the board. But it is a cheap board, and if you are just starting out you can go with it, but anything else and it is useless.

  • Name: Lamar Mission Snowboard
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  cheap,
  • Cons:  made in china,

Experience:   My first board. Rode it for two seasons. Nothing special. Not bad for a beginner. Seems to have lost most of it's camber. If you're looking for a cheap board to get you on the mountain this will do it.
