Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard Grey/Black

Award winning, rips everything, easy to ride, easy to turn, catch-free and forgiving, floats incredibly in powder, is unreal for jibbing, poppy freestyle fun, handcrafted in the USA, for first timers to pros. Banana Tech snowboards specific geometries reverse a snowboard’s “pressure map”, shifting your weight from your feet inward to the center of your board where balance is controlled. Some weight is still transferred to the tips and tails and full contact is maintained for control and stability but far less than is the case with tip-to-tail ski style camber where the tips and tails are the focus of all weight distribution, making a board catchy and difficult to ride.

Base color may very.

  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  perfect size, amazing graphic, magnetraction
  • Cons:  not fully wrapped metal edge,

Experience:   This board is absolutely awesome and i plan on having it for a pretty long time. I am 5'10 175 and got the 156 regular. I bought it this past year and it is one of the best boards i have ever been on. i have always liked boards with a mild rocker but nothing too serious and this board has just that. it has a little bend in the very center then it goes flat for the rest of the board until the ends where it curves up some more. it handles perfectly and precisely with great magnetraction hold the whole time. i am a big park rider all over and i especially love to be in terrain parks. the board holds up perfectly there and has not given me any problems to date. the graphic is EXACTLY what i wanted. it has a sweet flamelike swirl to it in orange/red and black. also i got it for a great deal and you cant beat that. i have my picture i want to upload but i cant find out how to.

  • Pros:  Magne-Traction, Banana profile,
  • Cons:  Edges aren't full metal,

Experience:   I've been riding a skate banana for a few years now, and there's little to add that hasn't been said. It's a fun, playful board, that is capable all over the mountain. With magne-traction, you'll either love it or hate it, and I certainly fall in the former category. Reverse camber, floats in the powder and inspires confidence in the park. That being said, edges that aren't fully wrapped are just frustrating. I wrote off a mates skate banana a few years ago hitting a rock, and although the metal wraps back into the board for strength at its ends, it leaves the tips/tail more open to damage.

  • Pros:  Magna traction ; ) , Reverse camber, Cool designs
  • Cons:  Tiny bit heavy,

Experience:   I own the 2012 skate banana it's a awesome board. I've only ridden in Australia and New Zealand, conditions can be icy a lot of the time so the magna traction really heaps hold in the ice. It acts like a serrated edge knife cutting into the ice. It's got just enough pop to hit decent sized jumps, it jibs wells and getting a decent press isn't to much of a struggle Great board for all levels of riding, even the boss ( girlfriend ) rides a skate banana and swears by it. Do your self a favor and get this board or at least try it. But I'm sold on it . It's a solid board. Bloody oath mate!!

"No metal front edges?!?" 2/12/2013

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard Grey/Black
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great on ice , All around shredder,
  • Cons:  No metal edges on tip and tail, Delaminater,

Experience:   Board rides great. Great for all skill levels. The magnatraction can be catchy on boxes. Rides great through all kinds of snow. Little on the heavy side. Board delaminated on front tip. Also I clipped a box and the whole nose cracked. Lib tech does not warranty that because it was physical damage. I don't know why they didn't have a full metal edge. Be careful if u like to ride tree runs not to run into anything. I recommend this board to someone who is looking to progress on all mountain riding. Not so much park

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX Snowboard Grey/Black
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Butters and presses, Rail slayer, Quick edge transitions
  • Cons:  Harder to recover from tail heavy landing,

Experience:   Extremely playful. Edge to edge, this board feels a lot like riding a skateboard. Spinning [on jumps and especially on & off rails] is what this board was made for. HUGE butters and presses. Surprisingly poppy for a reverse chamber board. It won't pop as high as a traditional chamber board, but the other attributes are so fun you won't care that your ollies aren't quite as high. Edge hold is exceptional with the factory-sharp edges. Still holds an edge well when detuned thanks to the Magna-traction. Turn shape feels exactly the same switch or regular. I would look elsewhere if your whole day involves pointing it down the fall line or if all you want to do is hit the biggest tables in the park [I find it harder to recover from tail heavy landings on bigger jumps]. Small and Medium jumps and drops are ok or on large jumps if you tend to stomp everything. Rails and Boxes are where this board really shines. I choose another board for high speed charging, riding most steeps and bumps. This is my go-to board for park, slushy spring days, and if I plan to spend the day in some tight trees.
