Sierra Says: The renowned snowboard that has made snowboarding easier and more fun for all. The Skate banana is a favorite among the park riders for its un-daunting ability to butter anything due to its rocker and softer center while still being able to launch off any kicker no matter its size as a result of its stiffer nose and tail. We mainly recommend this board to anyone who is in the range from a progressing park rider to the more advanced park rats. You will be stoked on how fast and easy your quiver of tricks will increase by using the Skate Banana. Whether you have big or small feet the Skate Banana is designed for all sizes!

LibTech Says: Award winning snowboard-specific designs on modern twin geometries. Rocker "banana" between your feet makes the Skate Banana loose and catch-free, it presses boxes, rails and jibs extremely well with the preset rocker, maintains pop with a stiffened tip and tail, and turns easily on hardpack or ice when the built-in rocker is put on edge. The built-in rocker curve makes the board float naturally in powder and the firm nose and tail prevent the board from folding in chunky conditions. Snowboarding is easier and more fun for all!

"skate banana peels like a banana" 12/7/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (4) No

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Carving,Chop,Crud,Groomers,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Powder
  • Pros:  best board i have ever rode, extreme edge hold, perfect rocker, libtech has really perfected it
  • Cons:  fragile , high speed, gets very squirlly ,

Experience:   this is the best board i have ever rode in my entire life hand down. but the thing is, is that it is on the fragile side. my top sheet started to peel only after about 15 rides for no reason and apparently this is a common problem for my 09 model. i dont know if the problem is fixed for 10 but alot of people had this problem. if you willing to throw down this much for a board it should be able to hold up to the abuse ir gonna give. i give it 3 outta five because i feel that the board is way over priced for the quality you get. im not saying ist a bad board. ITS A AMAZING BOARD TO RIDE AND FEELS LIKE SEX IN EVERY CONDISHION. but the quality isnt the greatest

"2010 Skate Banana" 9/21/2011

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Magna Traction, Reverse Camber,
  • Cons:  Top Sheet, Flex,

Experience:   Ok so I rode this board 2 years ago and now that I am done with it I can finally give the board the official review that it deserves. For $500 I expected a nice board... Something that was bomb proof and very fun to ride. Being the first reverse camber board that I have ever gotten it was a lot of fun to ride. I enjoyed the board and a good time. The magna traction is a life saver. I love it and wish I had it on all of my boards. The base of this board was awesome! i used it on turf in the summer and rode through whatever in the winter. I beat the shit out of this base with mud rocks and grass and only waxed it a few times and it lasted forever and only has some scratches on the bottom. I didn't like how much flex it had. Sometimes it was good and sometimes it was just too much... Really my opinion only and probably wouldn't bother the average rider. I felt that this board was made with a very low quality top sheet. I can't even tell you how many chips and peels my board has. I hit the front end of a rail with this board and smashed the nose so I sawed 4cm off the nose and tail to make it blunt tipped and it is a lot better and hasn't chipped yet. I didn't like that the edges didn't go all the way around the board and stopped just before the curve to go to the nose of the board. Lastly I didn't like all the 12 year old kids that would bust a nut when they saw this board. Too many little kid followers and I wouldn't buy this board again.

"Banana is the law" 10/4/2010

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Halfpipe,Jibs,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Jibs, Pow, Carving, small-medium jumps, Street, Rails, Easy to Press,
  • Cons:  Wobbly at high speeds, wash out with big jumps,

Experience:   This board is probably the best board of all time! BTX tears up the hills and the rocker kills every jib and rail you want to conquer. very forgiving and responsive when oyu want it. i havent had any problems with this board besides the tendancy to chip easily but thats fixable with shoe goo or any silicon product. the base is amazing; fast and waxes good and retain the wax for a good amount of time. the only issue is tracking straight down the hill, its a little on edge but you get used to it. all in all, the best board on the market.

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs,Jumps,Off Trail,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Smaller Jumps up to 40ft, Floats nicely in powder, Great for rails, butters, boxes
  • Cons:  Jumps over 50ft, Could have a little better pop, In certain snow conditions it can be a little slow

Experience:   I purchased the 2009 Skate Banana last year and it has lived up to all of its expectations. It does great in the park and kills rails and smaller jumps. I've found that with jumps over 50ft you slip out a little more than with boards with regular camber. That being said, I wouldn't trade this board for any other because what it lacks in big jumps it makes up for everywhere else. On days with fresh snow this board is probably at its best. Also, the Magnetraction never loses its edge and makes even the iciest days fun. I recommend this board for anyone who wants to progress their riding and have fun all over the mountain.
