Sierra Says:
This board is the one that started the trend to be different. The Banana Rocker tech allows this board to effortlessly slide on any jibs, while still being able to smash through the pow because the nose is already flexed above the snow. The built-in rocker provides a loose catch-free feel while the Magne-Traction stabilizes any edge to edge control on any type of snow. Have fun all-over the mountain and experience the next step in technology advancement with the Skate Banana.

**Base Colors May Vary**

Lib Tech Says:
Award winning snowboard-specific designs on modern twin geometries. Rocker "banana" between your feet makes the Skate Banana loos... More ?

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana Yellow
  • Use:  Boxes,Carving,Groomers,Rails
  • Pros:  lightweight, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Popular on mountain, Soft, Well known brand
  • Cons:  Too soft, Top sheet scratches

Experience:   SET-UP: 2009 Lib Tech Skate Banana 156cm. RIDER SPECS: 6'0, 170 lbs, stance = 15+, -3 OVERVIEW: Park Rats will fall in love. Others will just like. WEIGHT: Light. Definitely lighter than the Uninc I ride daily. FLEX: Soft flex. On a scale of 1-10, I would describe the flex as 4. CARVING/TURNING(6.5/10): For the carvers, it holds an edge very well because of the magnetraction For the skid turn people, magnetraction definitely made a noticeable difference in icy conditions. No problems on groomers or parks. Did not test on powder or backcountry. STABILITY(5/10): If you really bomb it down the mountain, there is definite chatter. However, this is likely due to the soft flex. POP (7/10): Good pop. However, I'm not sure if this is due to the tail of the board, or the fact that the board was really light. SWITCH(8/10): No problems riding switch. DURABILITY (8/10): Usual top sheet damage. No major damage to base. TECHNOLOGY: This board has banana tech in it. It basically has a rocker in the middle allowing the entire edge to be in contact with the snow. Normally, snowboards have a hump/dead zone in the middle. Banana Tech looks more like the bottom of a rocking chair. I think rockers are great for jibbers, rail junkies, and groom riders, but not that great for the kicker/halfpipe people. NEGATIVES: Magnetraction seem a bit grabby especially land jumps. Flex was too soft for my taste. CONCLUSION: Fun. Great for park rats and groomers. And lock these boards up because it's a very popular board. You can also spot it from a mile away.

  • Cons:  Top sheet scratches, Low quality

Experience:   this is a great board.. good for everything. I use my nana mostly for park/jibbing/jumps. its nice and soft and has reverse camber making this board superrrrrr fun on jibs (effortless presses :)). also, since theres magna traction you can still throw down some sick carves even when your edges are detuned. this board might feel weird at first but its the best board ive ever ridden. the only thing i have to say is its not that durable, it chips easily.

  • Name: Lib Tech Skate Banana Yellow
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Park,Powder,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Soft Flex in middle, Stiff tip/tail, Rocker between the feet!, Does what it tells you
  • Cons:  Delaminate's easily, Ugly without stickers,

Experience:   I had to follow the hype and try this board out, and boy was I not disappointed. Having come from a Burton Se7en then a Gnu Carbon High Beam, this Skate Banana kills them all. It makes me feel like I have so much control of the board, easy buttering, yet the tip/tail are stiffer than the middle so it doesn't buckle. Also really easy to ride powder on this thing, and it's very catch-free. Only drawback I've noticed (with most Mervin Mfg boards) is that the topsheet gets delaminated very easily. I do a few tail-blocks here and there and the topsheet started delaminating in the rear. Also gets chipped easily at the top but otherwise this board is KICK ASS

  • Pros:  great flex, magne traction works!, sweet colors

Experience:   I got to switch boards with a friend who has this board. I was riding the Sierra Reverse Crew 159, and I got to try the skate banana. I could definitely feel the magnetraction as it was really icy in the morning. Where the Sierra RC washed out, the lib tech didn't. i think this will be my next rockered board!

  • Pros:  Flexible, Poppy, Light
  • Cons:  Big Jumps,

Experience:   Overall this board is a blast in the park. The rocker and soft flex made it very playful on the jibs, while also being very poppy off the jumps. The only thing that I did not like about this board is landing after spinning. Sometimes it felt like the board wanted to spin a bit more after landing. Fun board for someone who spends a good amount of time in the park, especially if you are big on jibs.

  • Cons:  Too soft

Experience:   I bought this bought last year after testing it in Whistler. I really enjoyed riding it and received lots of compliment particularly in Europe where it wasn't as well known. It was very forgiving in the park and brought my freestyle along really well, that said it struggled when I was race training and carving was a constant battle. I accept I shouldn't have raced with it but I forgot by race board, haha. Great board but I have moved on to stiffer stuff this year.
