"2011 Lib Tech Travis Rice C2BTX Horsepower 161.5" 12/27/2010

  • Name: Lib Tech T Rice Pro C2BTX Snowboard .5 - Men's
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Fast, stable, poppy, lightweight, responsive, stiff, playful, durable, quick edge to edge, jumps, floats in pow (regular or switch), graphics
  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   THAT'S IT, THAT'S ALL. This snowboard is definately my favorite snowboard I've ever used so far. It is definately deserving of the good wood award and is easily worth the money. After using the board in all types of conditions, I realized it worked well everywhere. I would say this is an advanced snowboard since it is very stiff, fast, and powerful, but is surprisingly playful, especially in pow. It works well on ice and hardpack because of the magnetraction. On jumps, this thing is also rediculous. The C2 camber is very poppy and powerful, and can really launch you off of any sized kicker. The board is also very lightweight, which also helps on jumps. I also like the magnetraction on the jumps because one time, I caught my edge going off a 30 foot kicker and the magnetraction saved me on the landing. When I came off the kicker I was slowly leaning towards my toe edge through the air. While I thought I was going to fall right on my face and break my wrist, the magnetraction dug in just enough to keep me from falling and possibly getting injured. Out of all types of terrain this board is good at, it is at it's best in the backcountry. It seems like a natural backcountry snowboard, and is good at anything from big mountain freeriding, to freestyle in the backcountry. The C2 camber floats really well in the powder whether riding regular or switch. The base can also take a real beating, and is very durable. The buttery tips also make it super playful in the pow. The board also allowed me to rip through tree runs, because it turns on a dime. The board is powerful and responsive enough to initiate split second turns, it can float through bottomless pow, and the magnetraction holds an edge through any type of snow condition you will encounter in the backcountry. Overall, the Lib Tech Travis Rice C2BTX Horsepower snowboard is for the advanced/expert snowboarder who wants a stiff and powerful ride for all conditions and terrain.

"Great" 12/24/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech T Rice Pro C2BTX Snowboard .5 - Men's
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Stable, MTX,
  • Cons:  Little heavy,

Experience:   This is the second Lib Tech board I've owned and I am very happy with it. The board is great for all mountain riding and feels very stable at high speeds. The pop is sufficient but I would not say it's great. I love the edge hold on this thing and even on ice it feels solid. The issues I have with it are that, to me it feels a bit heavy, and presses feel a bit inconsistent, most likely because of the rocker. It's easy to get the tail and nose off the surface but when you start using the flex of the board it feels a bit iffy. Even with these issues I would say it is an outstanding board and anyone looking for an all mountain board should get this one.
