  • Cons:  None,

Experience:   The 2012 T.Rice Pro can be described with one word, incredible. To start things off, I got this snowboard due to the fact that I loved my HP model from last year. The differences between the regular and HP are as follows: the HP is softer, lighter, and different in construction and art. This snowboard has impressed me just as much as the HP did last season. I paired this guy up with 2012 Burton Cartels. First, I love the artwork on the board. Also, C2 camber is very powerful yet playful. Camber underfoot provides stability and power while rocker in the middle provides float and playfulness. Magnetraction provides superior edgehold and stability in all rideable conditions, although it does take some time to get used to. It also has a fairly deep sidecut which makes it very quick edge to edge, and the base is very fast yet very durable. On the hardpack, this thing is like a ferrari. It can turn on a dime with absolute precision while it can just burn past almost everything when you point it down the hill. In the park, this thing is also great. Not your ideal jib board, although it can hold its own on the rails; however, it is an amazing board for jumps. It is very poppy, easy to spin, and is also very stable on take offs and landings. Despite its stiffness, it is also very pressable, given the proper technique. Switch riding is never an issue with this board as it is a true twin. Above all else this thing excels in the backcountry. Despite the awful early conditions, I was lucky enough to find some knee to waist deep spots past the hiking gate. The durable base prevented core shots from rocks under the surface, the magnetraction provided stability when encountering variable conditions, and the rocker in the middle improved float and playfullness in the pow. Overall, this is a great snowboard in all conditions and terrain for the advanced rider looking for a fast, quick, and powerful ride.

  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Stable, Magne Traction: good hold on ice/hardpack, Rock resistant base
  • Cons:  weight,

Experience:   As usual, Lib Tech never disappoints. The TRice has the C2BTX which is basically the best of both camber and reverse camber worlds. I tested it on icy/hardpack early season conditions (didnt get into the park so am not reviewing that). It has a lot of pop and feels playful even though its really stable carving fast on the hard pack. Felt a little more flexible than the TRS without sacrificing the solid feeling on ice and riding fast. Magne traction holds a great edge on anything and the lib tech bases are the best I have found on the market as far as being durable. Hitting rocks which gouge out core shots on most boards only leave flesh wounds on Lib Tech. Yeah, its more expensive and weighs a little more than many other brands, but honestly... it will NOT disappoint in the end. Go for it!
