Sierra Says: This years TRS is designed solely in BTX for the park/freestyle riders that enjoy expanding their tricks from the park to the mountain. With a centered stance and a directional progressive sidecut, this board can be twined out for park days or setback for freeride days. It is a little stiffer this year to off-set the banana tech so you can still carve down your favorite lines at the speed you want without the chatter, but still butter all day on boxes and rails. This board has a ton of pop and will send you flying over any size jump. The stiffer nose and tail also prevent any capability of washing out when landing so now you have a catch-free, easy to land, easy to ride, performance enhancing freestyle snowboard: the TRS.

LibTech Says: Designed and ridden in the pipe, park, and all over the mountain by Eric Jackson, Sammy Luebke, Jakob Wilhelmson, and Martin Cernik. The stiff TRS Banana ensures good times and solid landings when riding big booters. Rocker ?banana? between your feet makes the TRS Banana loose and catch-free, it presses boxes, rails and jibs extremely well with the preset rocker, maintains pop with a stiffened tip and tail, and turns easily on hardpack or ice when the built-in rocker is put on edge. The built-in rocker curve makes the board float naturally in powder and the firm nose and tail prevent the board from folding in chunky conditions. Snowboarding is easier and more fun for all!

Base color may very.

"Lib Tech TRS-A Do It All Stick! I own 2." 11/13/2009
Helpful Review?   (5) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Forgiving, Floats, Rides Bigger, yet smaller than its size!

Experience:   Rode Libs like 15-18 years ago, later I was picked up by Flow (yuck), then Salomon and rode everything in between for 2 decades. Was looking for an addition to the quiver that was diverse enough to handle an assorted array of riding conditions without compromise. Demo'd a bunch of sticks and was set to buy another board but the Lib Tech Rep was visiting my local, family owned store and commanded that I give the TRS a try before I buy. Geezus! In my 20 yrs of ripping snow, this board represents the most progression in riding that I've ever personally experienced. I was amazed at how easy this board crushed any terrain with ease and with far less expenditure of energy! It floats pow like a board 5-10 cm's longer because of the shape, yet rips hard pack like a shorter board and is able to establish 45+ degrees of edge angle due to the Magna Traction (if the rider is capable). I broke my 160 park board and took my 167 TRS (yeah-a monster)into the park and pipe a few times and was shocked at how easy I could rotate the beast. Therefore I added a 159cm TRS exclusively for the park and ice, the board is that good. Stiff where it needs to be, and the 2010 TRS is just a bit stiffer than the 2009. It still combines a perfect blend of board flex, pop and edge hold to make even the silliest of riders look much better all over the mountain. For an old man, less energy expenditure means more backcountry hiking followed by park play time from lift opening until the lights are turned off. If you are looking for one board only for all of your riding, I very highly recommend looking at the Lib TRS instead of something more one dimensional like the Skate Banana. You won't go wrong!

"BTX but great on ICE and for Speed" 1/4/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX

  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Off Trail,Powder,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Stable, Rocker, Great on ice!

Experience:   SO, I am about 53kg (120ish lbs) and a girl, so not the usual board for me I guess... my boyfriend couldnt understand why I was going with this one to be honest, thought it would be too stiff. The first 5 minutes out there were surprising for me too... it felt heavy and stiff and I thought it was going to be too much for me after all, BUT... I was riding on an ice slab (New England!) and DAMN!! This board was holding an edge like MAD! I was carving on ice with no problem and some pretty high speeds for my taste and soon got the hang of it... after a few runs I started some basic jibbing with it too, went smoothly. I really liked the stability on the rough terrain and will definitely be taking this one out if the conditions are icy. The only thing that I found a little shaky about it was the landing off of little trail jumps going fast... it is so turny with the BTX that I felt like it wanted to rotate when I wasnt planning on it... might have been the super windy conditions though ;-) This is a great board and the stronger female riders should really consider this one for the East coast or early season riding.. cant wait to see it in POWDER!!

"This board puts the awesome in awesome" 12/26/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Cool Graphics, decent price,
  • Cons:  warranty is not that good,

Experience:   The TRS is one of those forgive me if I'm cheating boards. The reverse camber makes it really easy to butter and press, however, this isn't a noodle board like most other reverse cambered boards. The TRS can hack any steeps, and pretty much any speed provided you can handle them as a rider. I wouldn't say this is the best board ever made, because that is the Ride DH, however I ride the TRS because I find it to be the most fun board I've ever used. If you like to just play around, jib on anything you can find, then throw down big tricks in the park, then go ride the double blacks to quench your need for speed, you'll love the TRS. You won't feel like you are working to get the payoff on this board, the Magna-traction is key for us East Coasters, carving on sheer ice is pretty much awsome when everyone else has packed it into the chalet cause they can't do anything but break their butts. Slap on a pair of lightweight bindings and you'll have a really fun set-up. The TRS is a man's version of the skate-banana, it isn't a park-rat board, its an all-mountain legend, go to www.vociferousvoid.org for an in-depth review of the TRS. after you read it, come back to Sierra and buy the dang thing, stop wasting time!

"Wonder Stick" 12/22/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Stable, Good hold, Floats in pow, Flies in Park
  • Cons:  Kinda loose feel on groomers,

Experience:   I rode this board for the first time at Steamboat CO. Perfect place to try this board out. The conditions really challenged this boards versatility. The hill was void of a recent snowfall, with icy headwalls, and packed powder on the less ridden trails with AMAZING pow stashes in the trees. I rode this board everywhere, it held on the ice, it had good pop in the park, and it floated in the powder. I rode the 158 and destroyed the aspen groves that the sunnnyside lift accesses. I love this board.

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  carvilicious, decent flex , stable in high speeds

Experience:   I moved up from the Travis Rice MTX to the TRS BTX. I was always curious what the BTX was all about and I noticed the difference the moment I zipped through some deep powder on my 154.5. I could probably use a longer board but the 154.5's flex was much more fun to play with than the longer one. I think it's definitely more stable than the Skate Banana in the high speeds. Probably my favorite board of all time. Better than the Rider's Choice from GNU.

"MMMM Magne-Traction" 12/3/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Groomed,Off Trail,Park,Powder,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Grabs ice like an ice pick,
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   First off I don't ride this board. I have a Lib Tech Travis Rice 2009 and am obsessed with it. I live in Ohio and basically any where nearby that I ride has tons of ice as soon as the Sun goes down because its all hard packed snow. The Magne-Traction doesn't let you slip out like a normal board does. Highly recommend any of the boards with the Bananna Tech and Mange-Traction.

  • Name: Lib Tech TRS BTX
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Groomed,High Speeds,Low Speeds,Off Trail,Park,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  MTX, Durable, Pop
  • Cons:  A little stiffer than expected,

Experience:   Got this board for my BF's birthday and he loves it - except he wished it was a little softer... it's a bit stiffer than he expected. Regardless he loves it. He tears it up on and off trail on this board - it's his all mountain go to board... then he takes it in the park and has no problems. He's really happy with it and that makes me really happy with it!
